@Meddler Any love for Galio?

Mana buffs? Mana cost reductions? Possibly QoL "can be cast while moving" buffs for his Q and E?

He has a pitiful pick rate and I really think he should be more popular, especially in this meta but nobody plays him because of various issues he has.

Galios honestly fine, they don't want him to be an every game pick (which he realistically is good enough for) hes an antimage.

Galio really does not need any changes. The buff to his E was VERY helpful. He has a good winrate, which means that somewhere somebody is making it happen. The pick rate really doesn't matter. If you like the champion, you'll play them. It isn't always a good sign to have a good pick rate, it's a sign that there may be something imbalanced.

I really think the passive is what deters some people. The mana costs you honestly get used to after a while. But when people look at his passive, they either build him strictly MR tank or a complete tank with only Armor and Magic Resistance. He has good AP ratios, he's a Support AP Carry.

I don't think people understand how strong +90MR/Armor for 4 seconds is.

Also a misconception about his healing, the healing is only reduced by consecutive hits from the same unit. So if 4 caster minions attack you, you still get the full heal off of all of their 1st attacks. He makes fighting in minion range fun.

I main Galio but i never noticed that Multi-target thing. I knew it was better if you have multiple targets hitting you, didn't realise by how much? You're absolutely sure about this, because early game when his heal is not that strong, he does not get much from the multi-hit, one minion hitting me a couple times gets the same results (it feels) as 3 or 4 hitting me once, it's only late game that the heal feels much stronger when you have multiple threats.

That said, his passive doesn't deter people, it's his "execute". People like to be able to delete champs, Galios skills are all AOE, making them so powerful in a teamfight, but often if you know you've lost, you can escape, not much Galio can do. People prefer champs that instantly delete their opponent. Galio's full combo + ultimate often can against squishy units, but it's such a game changer, people tend to save it for when they get ganked or team fights they don't spam it like Lux or Zed.

His mana costs IS a big problem, but once you play him a bit you figure out ways around it, without the mana costs I could ditch certain items and would be SOO much stronger, his early game is only weak because you have to rush mana sustain, I hate the weakness but I respect it, without it he'd be horribly unbalanced.

Also, a lot of people do tend to stack that MR, two MR items is enough (not merc treads which people think is core) abysal sceptor and good runes is enough. IF the game requires is, add Spirit visage to get REALLY tanky, but without it, you still have more MR than most champs, and higher AP. (I finditem 3800 item 3001 item 3157 ) are the only items I always build on him. The first gives him options outside flash ulti, and completely handles his mana problems (with a large amount of HP), the second gives him MR and MR reduction and AP, almost as much in total as the third, which gives him armour. Combined with runes and he has more armour at this point then most of his rivals, and more MR. CDR is the tricky part, deciding the rest based on the composition

The ONLY thing I think they should change, MAYBE is his E to a dash or instant cast, or increase projectile speed of Q. Right now his moves have no synergy, they don't support each other, E as a dash into Q, or R, would give him more of a combo feel. Also sometimes his ultimate is a bit buggy, but it comes down to timing and cc, many times I've used my ultimate, then it gets canceled early by someone inside the ultimate using CC during the cast (not just before like Blitz or Leona or stacking like Braum) the other is sometimes if it's cancelled early, he gets stuck in the Ultimate pose even though it's cancelled. You look a bit dumbfounded for a second wondering if ultimate is still active or if the animation is just locked. I play him often and have the bug rarely, so i'm not surprised if its not a common bug

I think he's right about the shield consecutive hits thing. Because otherwise he would stop healing after 5 total hits and I've noticed in some games that I heal even after that many.

The only REAL synergy is between his Shield and his Passive. The intention of E definitely is to get him in R range, but there are so many dashes now that his kit is honestly outdated.

I think his Q is perfectly fine. I love it.

Yeah, his Q is fine, it's a bit slow, but I can live with it, which is why if I made a change it would be to E, but they just did that :/ (make it no cast time and it at least gives him that Nami style freeflow movement)

W is such a nice skill, sure he lacks a 3rd dmg skill, but it's affect in games is overwhelming sometimes. I've dropped it on an ally ADC while Malz ulti'd them, not only do I fully heal, but the MR buff kept them alive too, long enough to get some life steal shots in.

I'm gonna try to "Strategically" heal a bit more now. I used to just leave a couple casters to drop some heals on me, or call the jungler to farm nearby. I can pop W from the turret side of the wall while he farms, and I heal like 25-50% depending on my level and scaling.

Omg I never even thought about using the jungler for heals. There's so many opportunities to do that! #ConsiderItStolen

Haven't seen someone play Galio for quite a while. I think it's mostly about Riot not knowing what they want him to be.

The problem is they won't give him a QoL update. They'll "rework" him, and take away everything that makes him great. Galio is a very strong champion that most people are either just too lazy to learn or they see his passive and think "oh, he's only good if I'm stacking tons of MR!"

I would love lower mana costs, but I'd rather not risk Riot ruining him.
