What if Sona worked like an actual musician? Beats instead of cords.

Simple idea since i have limited time to type. All her abilities constantly refresh "beat" with a set cost per beat, on top of a flat cost to change between them (you may recast the same beat to stop playing). You can increase her base cooldowns and remove the passive bonus from her ultimate, thus removing her ability to chain gun spells together... thus also removing her ability to set up her passive 2-3 times every 10 seconds. This would require Sona to manage her mana since leaving any of her abilties running would rather quickly drain her pool, but it also allows for Sona to be played more passively since her focus would be more on buffing rather than poking early and chain gunning spells late game. If the mana costs turn out to be to low, you simply put in a system where the mana costs increases per ally effected (up to a cap?).

stupid idea, and musicians don't only play beats instead of cords lol. She's fine.

Musicians play chords too

Chords could also be interesting. A limited range Aura support that works like Invoker - different combos of abilities yield different results.

I guess the main problem is that it's really hard to make things situationally powerful - usually there's one combination that's mathematically best in 75+% of situations (as inevitably happens with runes and masteries, or historically with difference Udyr ability builds). But maybe it's possible.

How about lets not make my main champion useless. I rather like her being able to at least have some impact other than being generic support healbot #4

As a musician I have to say the topic name alone gives me a headache. Do you even know what a chord is? A chord is any harmonic set of notes consisting of two or more notes that are heard sounding like 1 note. For you to not understand that means you have a little knowledge of music and should study up a bit. Maybe try learning the piano.

Leave Sona alone. Sincerely: A Sona Main. [sona-playing]

Issue: You have absolutely no functions to this concept. Just a massive gutting. No actual ability descriptions. Just what you want removed from the champion. This blows.
