Sylas is hitting extremely hard?

Like, his W is doing extremely high amounts of varying damage, sometimes it hits for what you would expect, other times its seemingly one shotting people, what's up?

it makes far more damage to low hp targets. A good sylas uses w at the end of his combo and oneshot people meanwhile a bad one uses it first, doing okish damage.

but like there was a few occasions where sylas would jump on me, hit me with Q (both of which didn't hit too hard) then i would be like okay, turn on him and just insta dead, and the log would show up with kingslayer doing around 1.5k damage

He either have an interesting synergy with sheen items or he hit you twice with Kingslayer then. His w is really simple, you're above 40% hp, it does decent damage, you're under 40% hp, you're going to get hit really hard. 1500 dmg with single W sounds to be possible if you're below 40% and he have tons of AP+lich bane
