I'm gonna go ahead and say it: DFT is terrible
Seriously, it's borderline-useless and barely noticeable at any point in the game.

It adds a lot of damage throughout the whole game on certain DPS champions.
I assume you mean Deathfire Touch?
Well. On the champions it's MEANT for (champions that already have DoT in their kits, such as 
and 
), it's perfectly fine. It was recently gutted on its AD ratio because nobody that uses AD well has DoT worth a crap. It's still possible to use it if you're AD, but it's not worthwhile, because you don't need it.
