Die Hard support player here. it seems Riot really has taken feedback from the lack of popularity in the support Role because everything about Rakan oozes Flashiness, which seemed to be the thing people echoed the most about wanting in the supp role.
That aside, I just love him. He is like what if an assassin saved people instead of killing enemies. I am actually considering maining him. Well done Riot.

I'm usually a more reserved and defensive support (I main Soraka and Taric and play a lot of Braum too...) but playing Rakan is really teaching me to be more aggressive in lane. Never thought I'd see the day that people would congratulate ME with an amazing play, in stead of praising my marksman ^^
DB Gaming1 votesI abandoned the support role awhile back, but rakan makes me want to play support again. Granted you still need an adc that can hang so to speak... but damn is he fun to play. Also if you actually get a chance to play him with Xayah it's ten times more fun. Although league's wonderful community loves to break up the love birds, I managed to sneak in a game with her today and damn was it fun.
Phreak was saying in his patch note run down he thought people would think rakan is weak, but I don't get that at all. Mobility, shields, heal, engage / disengage... it's so nice.
