I'm confused on the GP nerfs

looking at his nerfs I feel like they just spun a wheel and went with that.

maybe nerfing the barrels instead of nerfing everything else then the barrels is a better way to nerf him? Nerfing now adays seems so off.

1.because he will win most lanes after getting sheen. 2.HE CANT BE DENIED. he will always farm like a ranged champion thanks to his Q,this is really unhealthy. 3.his base stats are so strong that he can pick up scaling runes on everything and do well early. 4.Barrels hurt at all stages of the game,since they cost no MANA 5.escape his fucks up with W just like lee sin does with R 6.the global presence makes sure he will get assists from bot lane. Thats the gp's identity,but they did the right choice for nerfing 1,2 and 3

fuck off, you can say the same thing for any ranged top laner vs a enemy melee laner.

at this point he is going to be weaker than his pre rework status.

Ranged is ranged,melee that can't be forced out of lane and even denied with overpowered E and highest base stats,deserves to be nerfed

In theory, RIOT want's to nerf weakness and don't touch the champs strength.

Following such philosophy, GP's weakness is that he's squishy and has a bad laning face (Like really, the mana refund on Q nerf hited me like a truck). He's strength is he's Global Ult, the barrels and the BLOODY oranges.

So, basically, you'll never upgrade your ult now, since you won't be able to farm with Q at all; You won't be able to use your barrels to poke at all; You won't have mana to do anything with if you lane for more than a couple minutes... Good going, Riot.

Nerfing GP to unviability is NOT the way to go about things. If you look at GP, why is he so strong? It's because his barrels are a guaranteed crit, and his Q has a lot of damage. So tone down the damage on his Q a bit, and perhaps make his barrels not a guaranteed crit. Now GP is still viable, and not entirely worthless in lane.
