Lets Discuss Braum

Let me start by saying that everything in this post is opinion and anything stated can and should be argued. Also let me state that braum hasn't seen a buff since patch 5.16!!!!``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````

As a support main who loves to play braum, i feel like hes in a iffy spot.` I consider him a win-more champion at this point meaning if you won the game with braum you probably woudlve won the game with another support, and probably faster/more decisively.

A few "scuffs" I see with braum are: His passive: Extremely hit or miss, and extremely dependent on team coordination. When compared to other supports form of main cc braums falls heavily behind unless a delayed stun is what youre looking for. (Almost never)

His q: Heavily underpowered, scales poorly with hp. Besides the slow this is used almost exclusively for hastening his passive stacks which still require a pretty organized effort to execute.

His W: AHH movement, which is great! Theproblem here is that the armor/mr you give to your allies means nothing if they are low, again used primarily for movement and positioning your ult and e. And almost never for giving your ally a defensive buff. A basic lulu e out performs this ability in every sense.

His E: As great as this ability seems, it just feels extremely underpowered while in use, and I find myself getting greater value out of using it to keep passive stacks up, than I do blocking opponents abilities. I mean its not worth really blocking anything other than** the initial burst due to the damage reduction not being effective enough to keep you at an hp youd like to fight at.** A strong ability, that still feels lacking

His Ult: I like this ability, great cc, a decent slow, hard to miss, but champs like nautilus and Leona leave me wanting more out of braums ult.

Overall Braum is by far my favorite champ to play, he instantly puts me into a schitzophrenic Russian state, but good lord does he feel weak when youre not ahead.

First off, Braum's passive is one of the best in the game, IF played correctly.

His q in most cases is a 70% slow(not sure on exact %) and then a stun and does heavy damage early, and is on a spammable cooldown.

His E isn't underpowered, it's just situational. If you're playing a game against a team with no projectiles, sure, it's weak. But even for trading in lane it's great since it negates all damage going at your adc for a few seconds, and then after that they're most likely stunned.

And his ult isn't supposed to be like nautilus or leona, his has zoning potential similar to rumble's built in.

Overall, I think you're not playing braum correctly, and nowhere near his overall potential. While he isn't in the best spot currently, he's nowhere near weak, he just isn't played much in the meta. He is a fine champion and if you watch a higher elo braum player, I assure you you'll think the champ is much better.

It seems to me because of the complaints you're giving that you just don't understand his specific strengths and are trying to lump him into a jack of all trades support similar to thresh. He's strong when picked in the correct scenario, and is fine/good in most other scenarios as well. If you want any tips on how to play him, I play a lot of support. So hit me up here or in game (master tier support, but I'm currently trying to hit master playing only thresh. So use Moooose2).

If not good luck and I hope I don't seem like a jerk in this post.

didn't sound jerkish at all and I do feel that I play braum how he was designed. I get every part of it, have enough games on him(around 60k mastery), his q sets up his passive, jump to important allies in distress, shield, ult, w out or in deeper if needed, repeat. I just feel that his design is great in idea, but when put to real game instances, hes far to situational. Kind of like designing a really nice bubble in a lab, and putting it to use in a needle factory. I couldn't even really tell you what I want on braum I just feel like hes lacking something.

Thanks for the input!

Teamfighting with braum is hardish though and slightly counter-intuitive. If you can get auto's on most members on the enemy team, or have good ults that are more focused on zone control than tagging the entire enemy team with a slow, you basically smash teamfights.

I respectfully disagree with most of the post. Braum is not weak, his kit functions well exactly as it should when played as intended.

If Riot changed him to make his passive more powerful he would dominate most levels of play (where your teammates know to use it).

Riot isn't going to buff a champion just because some people are bad at playing with him on their team.

Braum's passive is strong enough that with certain allies (Lucian) it is actually OP.

His q: Heavily underpowered, scales poorly with hp. Besides the slow this is used almost exclusively for hastening his passive stacks which still require a pretty organized effort to execute.

It enables him to place a passive mark onto an enemy at range, this is pretty powerful if your teammates know to focus that person (most teammates are good enough to know to do this).

His W: AHH movement, which is great! Theproblem here is that the armor/mr you give to your allies means nothing if they are low, again used primarily for movement and positioning your ult and e. And almost never for giving your ally a defensive buff

Good idea! This is something I'd actually like to see. Some sort of buff to the W so that it protects lower health allies better. Although I could also see why he shouldn't need to use it to protect low health allies. He should be on top of squishy allies for most of a fight anyway, so he should be protecting them, peeling for them and reducing their damage taken that whole time.

His E: As great as this ability seems, it just feels extremely underpowered while in use and I find myself getting greater value out of the speed buff and using it to keep passive stacks up, then I do blocking opponents abilities, I mean its not worth really blocking anything other than the initial burst. A strong ability, that still feels lacking

It works like Yasuo's wind wall, it can block a single projectile ability, but then it sticks around and offers damage reduction behind it. This is very powerful, not weak.

His Ult: I like this ability, great cc, a decent slow, hard to miss, but champs like nautilus and Leona leave me wanting more out of braums ult.

His ult is a larger area and longer lasting cc than Leona Ultimate. There's no missing power here.

Braum is my biggest counterpick into Xayah. The fact that your E when timed correctly can make her fundamentally non existent throughout half team fight as she won't have any quills to root your team with. :O

Braum's E is the defining point of his kit, it's literally what makes Braum Braum, if for any other ability then you may as well have picked another support. It is also one of the best supporting abilities in the game being able to block major abilities and basic attacks from your carries.
