SUPER GENIUS HIGH IQ IDEA!

Enemy icons are permanently displayed in their regular death timer position.

Enemies are grayed when you don't have vision, in color when you do, death timers ar the same.

When you have vision, enemy icons function the same way as allied icons. Left click to bring up portrait, ability click to cast on selected icon and right click to auto attack.

That would remove the entire concept of hit box bodyblocking, no thank you.

Then how about it counts as having your cursor hover over the center of their hitbox - meaning it can be overlapped by a Fat’Gath hitbox?

Then it would be incredibly unintuitive, and likely hyper buggy.

Additionally, it would prevent bushwhacks/any element of bushwalking to dodge/de target abilities. No longer does a fiddle have to actually find their target when surprised. Think the jungler might be coming? Mouse over their icon and spam your q while walking through the jungle. Now no matter what happens, the instant you see them, even if it's mid cast, you insta fear them with no consequence or difficulty.

Imo, while it would be nice to have the ability to see whose in vision and missing in a second portion of the screen besides the map, the targeting portion would be 100% fucking busted and would remove skill from the game.

This is actually something I didn't think about it and is a very good point. Even with that taken in mind, if you know something is coming, you definitely can prepare for it. I've actually been in a situation as Fiddlesticks against a fed Rengar with Duskblade, meaning his RQ combo alone would 100 - 0 me. I feared him out of the air twice and the first time I used stasis. It's no different than the very common twitch reaction timing that good Thresh and Poppy players have.

The difference is one is a play of incredible timing, practice, and skill that likely makes some montages, and the other can be taught to a bronzie in a 5 min "you won't believe this!" video and them properly executed.

I don't think guaranteed targeting can be reasonably implemented in game as buffering and mechanics currently stand.

Agreed again. but you also have to take into consideration that a lot isn't being accomplished if your mouse is hovering over a champion spamming an ability. Furthermore, if you're clicking a portrait nonstop and champs walks into vision somewhere, you're going to start moving towards that location inadvertently. Which may do more harm than good.

But my issue with targeting is when I'm playing Draven , attempting to orb walk, catch axes and spam W all at once, I don't think I should be rewarded with being able to AA my actual preferred target. If I'm playing Tryndamere or Master Yi and 100% of my damage comes from melee auto attacks standing on top of you, I shouldn't be forced to auto attack Alistar or a tower because "hit boxes"

If they walk into vision somewhere then you know you're safe, and can click to move again. It would still be a no-downsides safety button.

I disagree, if a tank is forgoing all of their abilities and threats to make your targeting difficult, that's a tactical option that should be available (and is still beatable through attack move click and target Champions only, but actually requires skill now). Also, I really don't think it would be viable for that. The portraits are too far from the middle of the screen, and would require massive and constant mouse movement, which would make it unviable. Proof of concept is lulu, where even high elo and pro lulu's don't generally use that option, and will sometimes targets w or e onto enemies even though the portraits are free Allie clicks. And that's just single clicks, not 2+ autos per second.

That's kind of the point. It doesn't make any sense for pure melee champions like Tryndamere MasterYi JarvanIV MonkeyKing Darius Irelia Nasus Olaf Rengar Trundle Udyr Vi Warwick Volibear XinZhao to literally be standing right next to you, but not be able to auto attack you because a champ that's further away from you and your target is "hit box body blocking".

Keep in mind, hit box blocking is only a concept that applies to our third person isometric view of the game. From the perspective our the actual champion, it makes 0 sense.
