Counters: 5% vs 15%

I just want to point out that it is not okay for any champion to have only a 55% loss rate against their hardest counters and a 65% win rate against champions they counter.

Yorick's in that state right now (op.gg). And why? Because despite his pets having no counter whatsoever thanks to a bug that hasn't been addressed, the Maiden was buffed. (For those wondering, it says nowhere in his kit, the client, or in the spotlight, that his pets are intended to take half damage from AoE like his ghouls used to. They are not supposed to do that. If you'd like to claim it's not a bug, please provide with the proof it's intended, because there is none.)

If his pets are to keep that strength, then the champion himself needs to be less able to survive, like Heimerdinger.

But the wiki states that they take 50% damage from AOE. Also they are oneshot by auto-attacks I think. Unless they changed that, they used to get oneshot by all autos even ap champs 3 levels lower than him

It... didn't before. Glad it was finally added. And it doesn't matter that they're one-shot by autos. That's exactly what makes them overpowered. The fact even an AP champion who doesn't have attack speed has no option but to auto attack them while the champion himself just uses auto-attacks and high defense to stomp them is the problem here.

Nevermind the fact the point from the title still stands.

I am only stating that it isn't stated anywhere that their HP doesn't matter vs autos.

Dude just got buffed, maybe higher elo people will find ways to counter him and then us low elo plebs can follow on this. Let the changes sink in for a couple patches and we will see. I don't like immediate re-nerfs after a buff. He does seem way strong atm though.

Also, the 65% winratio you mention is just vs Akali and Gnar (2 champions that have been destroyed because of pro play) and those 2 have 60%+ lose ratio in D+ vs 8 champions each. So it's more them being weak than our friendly gravedigger being supremely overtuned

If you're counting Akali and Gnar then that actually brings it up to 4, since op.gg has the top ones as Ryze and Urgot. Ryze we can ignore, but Urgot and Mundo are certainly not weak.

There should only ever be around a 5-7% difference both ways. But there's an issue when a champion is so strongly outperforming against those he counters than his counters do against him.

I'm very confused where you get this idea that people will "find" a way to counter him. The reason he is like this is because there's nothing you can do about it. They don't ever just leave a champion overpowered, because often the only "counter" that exists to find is that they need to be banned every game if your first pick doesn't have them hovered.

I am using the lolalytics site because in OP.GG you can't filter Plat+ or Diamond+. Lolalytics also has tons of other metrics that op.gg doesn't. You should check it out.

Also, yeah mundo is trash atm. And urgot was gutted just this patch so if you are not looking at 9.3 stats I would take that with a boulder of salt.

The real problem that makes him OP is that his maiden deals a ton of magic damage, while he himself has extreme amounts of physical damage. It is very hard to properly itemize against him and your best bet is just getting to around 160 armor as fast as possible. That's just the point where I personally noticed that he could never kill me anymore.

Also his ghouls chasing you FOREVER if you ever got hit by his E is broken as well. That effect never wears off and if he summons them while you're still slowed they will still lunge at you and chase you down. No escaping this.

I think Riot knows all about this, they just allow him to be strong, so they can check the box of "was strong in 2019", then they'll nerf him for god knows how long.

Give him 2-3 more weeks of being in the spotlight, then the nerf will come and you won't have to worry about him for the next 3 years.
