Can someone explain how I get Mastries 6 & 7 like I'm an idiot

Here's what I'm seeing.

> Earn Mastery 6 tokens for S-, S, and S+ games with champions that are Mastery Level 5. Combine two Mastery 6 tokens with that champion's Hextech shard, permanent, or 500 champion essence to unlock Mastery Level 6. > Earn Mastery 7 tokens for S and S+ games with champions that are Mastery Level 6. Combine three Mastery 7 tokens with that champion's Hextech shard, permanent, or 600 champion essence to unlock Mastery Level 7.

Some questions:

  1. So any champion I get an S on thats level 5 can get me tokens. Even if it's not the one I want? E.g. I get an S with Zilean, he gets me a token, I can use it to unlock 6 on Sivir?

  2. And then I read if you already have X number of points you don't have to grind because you technically already did. Is that right? or do I have it backward?

  3. Where is this an option if I don't have tokens and I want to use one of the other options (dust, shards, etc.) Is it in Hextech?

Once you get level 5 mastery with a champion you can start getting tokens for that champion. Get at least an S- in a game, you get a token for the champion you played. Go into hextech crafting and you can spend 2 tokens of the same champion plus 500 essence/champion shard for the champion that is the same as the tokens and you unlock level 6 mastery for that particular champion, not any other champion. It's only good for the champion that you played at mastery level 5 with and got tokens for. For level 7 it's the same process but you need at least an S ranking to get the tokens, and it requires 3 tokens instead of 2.

Wait so you can only get mastery lvl 6 for one champion?

No you can get lvl 6 for all champions

  1. Have Rank 5 on a champion.
  2. Earn any S-rank on a Rank 5 champion to earn Mastery Tokens for Rank 6.
  3. Spend 2 of those tokens, along with (champion shard/champion permanent/500 blue essence)
  • Champion Permanent is what you get when you already own all champions and you reroll 3 champ shards. Normally it would go directly into your inventory, but since you already have all champions that permanent champion remains in your hextech inventory.
  1. Repeat for Rank 7, but S- grade is no longer high enough to earn a token, and 3 are required to unlock the mastery rank.

ok, one last dumb question. Can I buy my way to mastery then?

You do at least need to earn the S-ranks on the champion in question. But the shards will soon be obtainable with IP via a random item from the shop.

1- No, if you earn a mastery token, it's with the champion you earn it from.

Example: You earned a token with Garen, Garen tokens can't be used to level up other champions.

2- Basicaly, if your number of champion points meets the requirements for level 6-7, you automaticaly unlock it.

3- It's in hextech, you'll see it alongside boxes, key fragments and gemstones.
