Does syndra deserve nerfs. She does deserve them seeing as there's no one to really put up with her sadly. And unlike jinx buffing her counters isn't really the answer since they're pretty balanced atm.
Even if you build MR/hourglass, it's not going to do anything for her shove->roam plus she actually has good poke w/o having to use ulti until she has to make sure, which will probably be when 3 balls coulda killed her but she has 6-7 prepared or after you hourglass simply due to harass.

EcchiOtakuTM2 votesKat doesn't offer any form of utility that syndra does, kat doesn't perform as strongly in premades too, kat doesn't shove a wave was safely, while she may have burst damage, her sustain damage isn't as great for objective taking, kat has prevalent counters, not to mention syndra can still provide heavy zoning with just her stun threat and Q spam+rylia.
Again syndra is just the victim of competition nerfed like jinx but she has to be nerfed cause the competition aren't doing badly just not meta OP anymore.

The Q ratio was buffed at the same time as Syndra was reworked, but your post seems to imply that it was a standalone buff. The Q ratio buff happened because Q lost its old Transcendent passive +15% damage to champions.

Unless I'm misremembering, I'm sure it happened after the rework not during.

Are you a PBE player? I'm not, but they might have buffed Syndra's Q after they reworked her on the PBE? I'm sure that they did not buff her Q on the live servers at a different time than the rework. None of the patch notes after 6.9 have any Q buffs, and 6.9 does not include Syndra in the Mid Patch update. A champion being picked in LCS means jack as they tend to ignore counters and strong picks as long as their teamcomp checks out with what they've been scrim'ing with.
