it is absolutely perfect for isolating people in teamfights

i never see any bards ever do this. its always in defense. this ult has some serious game changing power in it. is it 5v5? ult their tanks at the frontline, rush in eat the carries in the back.

I always ult the backline, so my teammates can focus the tanks, which they're more comfortable doing.

The problem is Solo Q. That requires coordination/teamwork/communication, which only happens on a moment to moment basis in Solo, generally

Ideally this is how Bard should ult, but being able to single out your target is a best case scenario. Most of the time you'll end up clipping your own teammates who are getting ready to engage or your team won't capitalize on what you just did. Either way you get yelled at.

Eh, more like: is it 5v5? ult their tanks at the frontline, your team waits for the ult to wear off and then engages.

Here's a thought I had.

Push your lane up to the tower

Call your Jungler to flank from behind,

Angle your ult so it only hits the tower,

And now you have a flawless tower dive.
