They got rid of his cane and even friggin beatrice!

Hell theres barely any crows/ravens on his abilities too (only his passive has something that resembles his companions), his ult just looks like he grows wings he doesnt even turn into a big ass crow monster anymore, now all his abilities look red like those generic noxus/bloodthristy champs and his new gimmick is even worse, another "demonic" power cliche.

Please just get rid of this and start over, or just release this champion as a new champion and leave swain alone, that is not swain.

A badass crow monster >>>> an edgy warlock with wings.

So when you see a crippled person their special chair/canes are the most important thing about his/her identetity, instead of their personalities, goals or achievements. That's messed up

..this doesn't have Swain's personality, either. Everything about this Lucius fucking Malfoy insert is just an identity-theft, and not even a good one. Heard Swain's name over the radio and went "I CAN DO THAT!". No, as it turns out, he can't.

How many other champions used a cane and has a raven companion and turns into a raven monster?

This is what set him apart from other champs at sight, and they got rid of all of that almost completely.

The champions thay shapeshift are: Elise Evelynn Gnar Kayn Khazix Nidalee Shyvana Swain Quinn (not technically, but in game we go from Quin to a giant bird)

The champions asociated with birds: Anivia Azir Fiddlesticks Quinn Rakan Swain Xayah

The champions with a pet of some sort: Annie Ivern Janna Kled Lulu Maokai Malzahar Nunu Orianna the ball acts as a pet Quinn Sejuani Swain

The champions that seem to walk in a funky way or have missing limbs or somekind of disability: Camille DrMundo Fiddlesticks Gangplank Kled LeeSin Lissandra Swain Singed Sona Urgot Viktor Warwick Urgot

You are just thinking about appeareance. So you shouldn't even use the term "identity" because it goes far beyond how you look. Swain's identity is not abount being crippled or birdy. It being "the master tactician", a person of wits and ambition that seized power in Noxus through sneaky and clever ways and lead his army from the front lines, being crippled and birdy is just a small portion of him.

Also context wise, it didn't made sense for Swain to keep being crippled forever, he is a person of power in a world filled with magic and hextech, and leads an army that is in constant war. (If we were talking about a poor champion it would make sense to be crippled for ever, even in the real world peopple with enough resources wear orthopedic limbs) It makes sense lore wise, that he worked around the missing limb, we already have the augmented Camille Viktor Urgot , so is good in Runeterra context they did something different with him.

You don't get it. Swain's body was weak - therefore he opposed EVERYTHING Noxus stands for... AND STILL he became their leader!

That's a huge part of identity, really shows how deep his connection with beatrice is and how massive his demonic powers were.

I'm sorry. They're not going to backtrack on this change. The new design is too attractive. The old design looked like a certain war criminal. The new design sells to new players, and at least some of the old players.

Honestly hes so unrelated to swain that they could have changed his name and released him as a new champion.

He looks more like vlad than anything else, thats how lame this is.

Its exactly Vladimir's kit with talon's ranges on same abilities...

They didnt dig deep on that one kit...

Vlad can't semi globally place a Demon Eye that does damage like a item 3107 from miles away.

Vlad can't long duration cast a massive aoe and detonate it for damage based on how many Shards he has (Spells get empowered by charges, but different mechanic)

Swain can't become untargettable.

Vlad can't pull people to him.

You're right, but this would basically be what you'd expect from a Vlad Rework. Visually speaking, Swain's Q is Vlad's Q with an extra Gimmik Swain's W, is Vlad's E. Instead of being shot all around him, its directed but still a wave of damage extending from him Swain's E is Vlad's R. Sure it has massive range, but its still an AOE that's dropped, and does damage at a later time. Swain's R is Vlad's W. No he's not untargetable, but its a massive AOE with Swain always at the center, capable of movement and doing DoT-aoe damage that's converted into Health, which in exchange for losing the ability to be untargetable, gets a secondary set of damage he can apply at the end of it.

This is why everyone is calling him Vlad.

Maybe, but I'm talking from a marketing perspective. I mean, do you think being crippled and then acquiring the powers of a demon = still going to be crippled?

Personally, I think he was inspired by Michael Ironside more than malfoy.
