Why does League still only have 2 (now 3) permanent gamemodes?

Seriously, other games have at least 5 gamemodes, or even a limitless amount thanks to the developers allowing their playerbase to create their own via modifying the settings or even making their own from the game's code.

Case and point, Overwatch. You have regular Overwatch, then you have Arcade (which is usually at least 3 different gamemodes), and then custom games, which we can all agree on as bringing a large variety of gamemodes to the table.....oh, and now there's the workshop, which brings even MORE gamemodes into the game. Sure, Overwatch is a dying game, however, Blizzard has right idea when it comes to variety in gameplay.

Here's another one, DOTA 2. Similar to Overwatch, sure it's sketchy in popularity at the moment, Valve knows what they're doing to keep the game interesting and diverse. Just from a custom game sandbox standpoint DOTA 2 is infinitely better than League since you can test pretty much everything the base game has to offer, as well as playing WTF mode (which is literally just URF mode only with 100% CDR); which is a permanent addition to the game. However, where DOTA 2 shines is, again, in its player-made gamemodes.

Dota 2 also has Ability Draft, a gamemode which Riot would brand as "Impossible to make" in League. This gamemode by itself is extremely fun, and if it were in League I'd be playing it a lot (cause who wouldn't want to create a champion with Kat's passive and Karthus' ult).

You can create your own heroes from scratch in Legends of Dota, emulate old Warcraft 3 custom gamemodes, play Auto-Chess, play PvE gamemodes, PvP battle royale gamemodes, the options are almost limitless.

Now for a mainstream example, Fortnite. Fortnite always has limited time gamemode available to play and it has custom games (which allows players to make their own maps and game rules).

From a baseline perspective Fortnite lacks variety in gameplay....until you look at its custom games. You can create your own maps and play other people's maps. By doing this you have PvE, PvP and PvM (Player Vs Map) experiences, all of which are fun in their own way.

Needless to say, Fortnite is also doing well in terms of gameplay variety.

Riot, step up your game! Allow us to edit custom game settings, give us more permanent gamemodes, let us make our own maps and gamemodes, just give the playerbase more control of how they want to play the game!
