Dynamic Queue "Bot" Lane role vs "ADC/Marksman" role

When in champion select, if one chooses "Bot" and that is the role they are given. Is it Riot's INTENTION that said player should pick a marksman? (and to avoid negative comments I'm going to refrain from giving my personal stance on this issue.)

Statements have been made that since Riot was specific and clear on the role of support, by naming the role as "support" but was not clear on the "Bot" lane role, they didn't title this role as "marksman or adc" but instead titled it "Bot" Would appreciate it if people who don't truthfully know the answer to refrain from giving their speculated opinions, and if you do, to say that its your speculated opinion. I'm looking for a clear and correct answer from Riot themselves. This particular issue has popped up several times since season six started and I would like put this issue to rest. So that the next time it pops up, I can direct those with the issue to this page.

What exactly is the issue? You go marksman when you pick bot, that's common knowledge.

Riot has stated before that they don't like enforcing a meta so I would say technically no you don't have to take a marksman into the bot lane. However, the meta has evolved so that taking a marksman bot is pretty much the standard and people tend to throw lots of salt if you don't.

I imagine champions like Morde who were (re)designed with being played bot (despite not being a marksman or typically even building AD) in mind is why they opted to name that role 'bot' rather than 'adc' or 'marksman'.

I don't know if theres currently any other meta-acceptable exceptions to the bot lane role. (Of course, you don't have to play on-meta anyway.)
