Osiris the Arch-druid Best used in TOP MID or SUPPORT roles.

There have been some updates to Osiris. So if this is not your first time visiting this thread, I recommend checking those out, I have all the NEW information HERE in the OP, and the trail itself is in the comments if you are interested in exact dates on which things changed or were dropped and exchanged. The biggest changes to note, Is I have dropped the Healing Totem and Shock Totem abilities (and given back Osiris the ability to purchase a sightstone and other like items; He still can not purchase Control Wards though, as I did not remove the Clone Totems) and replaced them with other abilities, and the Bear form was dropped entirely, however, the bear theme (so as not to have to COMPLETELY change the lore), was incorporated into the passive as "Bear Necessities" and the old "I-C-U" passive (name) was dropped. The ultimates SECOND passive was moved to the New passive "Bear Necessities, in order to keep the Bear Theme, in the case of his E, to give him something other than an activated visual change, as the Bear Necessities Passive, is the only thing that makes the E an actual ability other than a visual change for Osiris (AND his allies... You will have to check that out to see what I mean). There were some mana cost (went up), cool-down, and number changes as well (dropped quite a bit on the Clone Totem scaling).

That being said, With your Eagle companion at your side and Your clone totems handy, No matter what, you should have, at least, the BEAR NECESSITIES, to ensure that you stand a somewhat decent chance, with a little bit of determination, to enjoy playing against any foe, as Osiris, if you Morph your mind into The Heart of the Beast.

Lore:

Early Life and Training:

Osiris was raised by his father, a shaman, his mother had left them almost right after he was born. Growing up, Osiris often wondered what his mother was like and why she had left them. During his early years, his father taught him the usage of totems and the value of vision. Eventually, he became quite adept as using them. And by the time he was a teenager, he was just as skilled as his father and was given the Shaman title, like his father. However, before he was prepared to take on the weight of being a full time Shaman, he had to seek out his mother. He knew that without at least meeting her, he would never truly find peace. So he left his home, and began traveling.

The Wilds:

Along his travels, as he was going through a meadow, he encountered a deer, trapped under a tree. He rescued the deer, and over the next couple of days, he healed it, and nursed it back to strength. Seeing that the deer was fully healed and able to take care of herself, Osiris began his journey once again. He was amazed as he watched the deer sprint off into the distance ahead of him, so full of speed and life.

About a week later, he came upon a jungle, and saw a cougar being chased and attacked by a hunter. He saw that the Cougar had taken a shot to the hind leg and was unable to walk. He used a Clone totem, and sent it after the hunter. Ensuring, he could heal the Cougar in peace. Once the cougar was healed, Osiris quickly fled. Lest the cougar decide it wanted revenge and seeing him as the only person to attack. But to his amazement, the cougar took off running past him, and instead attacked a squirrel, swallowing it in one bite. The cougar looked back at Osiris one last time, with no fear, as if to say thanks and then disappeared from his view into the trees.

At the end of the jungle, he came to large mountain, blocking any further travel. Determined however, to find his mother, Osiris climbed the mountain. As night approached, and only halfway up the mountain, he found himself outside a cave. Lighting a torch, he went inside, wearily. Seeing that the cave was empty, he blew out his torch and layed down and quickly fell asleep. A couple of hours later he was awakened by wolves howling in the distance. He looked around and remembered that he was in a cave on the side of a mountain. He had to relieve himself, so he gathered his totems and went outside the cave, and did so. Once he was done, he turned around, about to head back inside the cave. But to his dismay, a huge bear was blocking his path. He realized, he must have stolen the bears home. The bear hadn't spotted Osiris, and Osiris wanted no trouble. As he was about to leave, he noticed that the bear had a limp, and that his paw was injured. Osiris placed a healing totem down and leaving the massive bear behind him, Osiris took off up the mountain and once he reached the top, he built a campfire, and went back to sleep.

When he woke up again, he noticed that there was a river that flowed off the side of the mountain creating a waterfall down the side of the mountain he had just climbed, so he decided to go fishing. Dawn was nearly here, and the fish would be easy to catch. He guessed that if there was a river, there must be a lake. So he took off in search of it. Once he found it, he caught enough fish to last him for the next three days. Osiris built another campfire, and quickly cooked the fish. He was not quite finished with his last fish for the meal, when he noticed a pack of wolves closing in around him. He guessed they must have smelled his fish. Remembering, that if it was not for them and their howls, he might have awoken much differently the night before. So, when they were close, but not close enough to attack, he placed a shock totem, and took off running, leaving the rest of his cooked fish there, for the wolves to have. He placed several more, every 2 or 3 minutes, just to ensure that they ate the fish and not him. Still running, he did not even notice that he had reached the edge of the mountain, and Osiris went over it's steep edge. Falling to his doom, Osiris had one final thought. Now, I will never get to see my mother. Osiris passed out from fear.

The Journey's End:

A little while later, Osiris woke up, finding himself at the bottom of the mountain, and apparently free of any pain. What the? Osiris thought. HOW??? Blinking, he looked around him and at the mountain. The steep cliffs edge of the mountain confirmed to Osiris there was no way he had survived that. While he was pondering his miraculous fortune, He spotted a HUGE eagle, perched on a tree branch nearby. The eagle was looking straight at him. Seeing that Osiris had spotted it, The eagle flew down towards him, and upon landing, began to change forms. Once the transformation was complete, there stood before him, a beautiful woman about twice his age. "Osiris, you foolish and wonderful child." "How do you know my name?" Osiris gasped? "Well, I have watched over you your entire life, I should know your name!" The woman said. "My entire..." Osiris started then stopped. It dawned on him immediately. "Mother?" "You almost killed yourself, my son. You were lucky I was flying over head, or you would've died." "You saved me?" "Indeed! Now, are you going to give your mother a hug or not?" Osiris ran into her waiting arms. "Mother!" He choked. Tears of joy forming in his eyes. Over the course of the next couple of hours, his mother explained to him that he too had the ability to change into animals and that he was born with this ability. She warned him that he could not ever use it though, that if he ever did tap into it, that he would never be able to be human again. "Why?" He asked. "Because if you do not learn to use the ability by the time you reach sixteen years, you become trapped in animal forms, and can never return to human form." She whispered. "What? That time has already passed!" He exclaimed. "Why did you wait so long to tell me?" "Because, I did not want you to ever have the abilities to begin with. Druids are not treated with respect. They are looked down upon as freaks of nature. I did not want you to know such social pain." She explained. Osiris sighed. He understood her reasons, but, a part of her resented that she hadn't given him the choice to choose for himself. "Is that why you did not ever reveal yourself to me?" He said, bitterly. "Yes, I love being in animal form, and can do many great things for many people while in animal form. I could not give it up." In light of her honesty, Osiris decided that it must have taken a lot of courage to tell him her selfish reason for abandoning him. He also decided that he would forgive her, mostly because despite the fact that she made a choice to deny him these abilities, he remembered her saying she had watched over him his entire life. Looking back, He realized, there had always been a wild animal of some sort lurking just within his peripheral vision and knew immediately that it must have been her. She was always there. Silent, motherly, watching, ensuring that he would be okay. But without interference. He knew too, that must have been extremely hard on her. Then another thought occured to him. "You were the deer in the meadow, weren't you?" "Yes." "And the cougar in the jungle?" "Yes." "And the bear on the side of the mountain?" "Yes." "Why did you run me out of the cave then?" "I didn't. That was your own fear. I was going in there to get away from a pack of wolves that had attacked me." "Were you any of the wolves circling me at the lake or were they the wolves that attacked you?" She laughed. "Yes, I figured the best way to help you stop them from attacking you was to join their ranks, and counter their attacks with a quick defense." Osiris was amazed. He could not do anything but stare at her in wonder. Just then, Osiris heard footsteps behind him. He had forgot to set out his totems, in the excitement of meeting his mother. There before him, stood a hunter, with a pack of wolves beside him, his gun aimed. "There you are! You vile woman. You wont escape me this time." The hunter fired his gun. Without thinking, Osiris leaped in front of his mother. The shot hit him in the chest. Everything went black.

A New Beginning:

Osiris was coming in and out of conscience. ... He could hear wolves fighting... ... He could hear The hunter screaming in pain.... ... He heard a bear roar.... ... He awoke a bit later and could have swore he was on the back of a deer... That was the last thing he saw before he slipped into a deep sleep. He dreamed of deer. He dreamed he was a deer licking water from the lake at the top of the mountain he had fallen from before meeting his mother. "Osiris wake up." He heard his mother's voice. "Osiris!" Wake up now! You must activate the healing totems." Osiris blinked his eyes open. He looked up into his mothers eyes. He wearily and arduously tilted his head and saw a healing ward already placed next to his mother. He activated it with his magic. "The other one too," his mother said. He looked on her other side and saw another one. He activated it as well. Within minutes, he could feel his strength returning. He fell asleep again. When he woke up, his mother was crying beside him. What happened? Osiris thought. His mother saw he was awake. "You saved me. And then, I saved you." She cried. Then why are you crying? Osiris thought. "But in the process, while you were unconscious, you changed," she choked. Osiris looked down at his body. His arms were gone. He now had four legs. His hands were gone, he now cloven hoofs. He realized his dream of deers was not a dream after all.

The Future:

It took Osiris a while, but with his mother's guidance, He learned how to carry his clone totems in his animal forms. He had used up the last of his healing totems and did not know how to create more (it was the last and final thing his father had yet to teach him), and didn't want to travel back to his father's home, as his father would not recognize him any longer. He especially favored the Speed of the Deer, The Agility of the cougar, and the Spirit of the wolves. And spent much of his time, Like his mother, using these forms. He learned how to hunt and feed himself, and he learned how to protect the animals he found injured or in harms way. He even earned himself a few loyal companions among his most favorite forms. Osiris spent many hours each day with each of his friends. Where ever he went, he always had a friend in whatever form he chose. He decided though, that since he did know how to make more clone totems, and could still create them as an animal, he would continue using them. Who knew when a few extra friends might come in handy.

He had heard rumors and whispers among the animals of others like him and his mother, The name Nidalee was whispered quite often. Intrigued, he and his mother decided to seek her out. Perhaps, with her, they could find a welcoming friend.

Place a Visible totem that spawns a destructible animal of Osiris current form (Clones only have 20/25/30/35/40% of >Osiris HP) every 15/12.5/10/7.5/5 sec. This clone (despite being an animal) is ranged. This clone (like zz'rot spawns) will find the nearest lane, and will travel down that lane towards enemy nexus seeking >the nearest enemy (champion or turret) and will deal physical damage. Like Heimerdinger's turrets, these Clone Totems become inactive (still provide vision, but do not spawn clones) >whenever Osiris goes too far away from them. However, unlike Heimer's turrets this range is 1500 units. (vision range >is the same as a control ward)

Bear Necessities Passive for Clone Totem: Deer:Clones Clones Grants Osiris and nearby allies (Champions only) within 575 range +5/10/15% Tenacity and Slow >Resist. Wolf:Clones Grants Osiris and nearby allies (Champions only) within 575 range +5/10/15% Spell-vamp Cougar:Clones Grants Osiris and nearby allies (Champions only) within 575 range +5/10/15% Life-steal

Will always attack Champions over Towers, Inhibitors or Nexus.

Bear Necessities Passive for Eagle Companion: Deer Pant: Summons an indestructible ghost deer that follows Osiris. The ghost deer considers Osiris and his allies its >fawn, and will Absorb and reflect the damage back to the attacker. Wolf Howl: Summons an indestructible ghost Wolf that follows Osiris and blocks and absorbs every >6th/5th/4th/3rd/Other Spell against him or his allies within 475 range. Depending on who the Spell in question is cast >on. Cougar Growl: Summons an indestructible ghost Cougar that follows Osiris and blocks and absorbs every >6th/5th/4th/3rd/other AA against him or his allies within 475 range. Depending on who the Spell in question is cast on.

Eagle Companion is Osiris' Defensive ability.

E:

Morph

5/7.5/10/12.5/15 second duration Cost 35/45/55/65/75 Mana Cool-down 5 sec (when the spell duration ends) for a total 10/12.5/15/17.5/20 cool-down Morphs into a larger version of himself (whichever form is currently activated) and Poly-morphs nearby allies within 475 >range to mimic his visual (normal sized though) and do a bonus effect on their attacks. (Allies receiving this Poly-morph >retain their current stats, and maintain control of their champion. Only the visual is changed to signify that they have a >passive effect on their auto attacks now.)

Bear Necessities Passive for Morph: Deer: Attacks on Enemies (minions and champs) increase the allies movement speed by 20/30/40/50/60 flat >movement speed for 2 sec. Continual attacks Do not stack this ability but instead refreshes the duration of the effect >to refresh to 2 seconds. Wolf: Spells cast on Enemies (Champions only) are duplicated. (or doubled in damage amount) So if a Morgana cast a >stun, while the stun duration is not doubled the amount of magic damage the enemy receives is doubled. Cougar: Auto attacks on Enemies (Champions only) are duplicated. (or doubled in damage amount). In other words, >Allies attack twice instead of once.

Morph is Osiris' Get in there Ability

R:

Heart of the Beast:

Cost: 100 mana. Cool-down: 60 sec. Activate this ability to change which animal form Osiris uses for the next 60 seconds (or longer if you want to remain in >the same form).

Bear Necessities Passive for Heart of the Beast: Deer: Boots of Mobility at level 1. Becomes Boots of Swiftness when Deer form is upgraded. Wolf: Sorcerers Shoes Cougar: Berserker's Greaves

Heart of the Beast is upgraded the way that Kha'zix upgrades his kit. With a choice given, after you put points into this ability. Additionally it is activated the way that Twisted Fate Activates his Pick a Card ability. So it will "scroll" through his currently available choices. From level 1-5 this ability, can not be scrolled through or changed, But for the purposes of the Bear necessities passive, and the fact that he starts at level 1 in Deer form, it will appear as if it is (in other words it will not be grayed out like his unlearned abilities.)

Additional explanation of Abilities

Passive: Bear Necessities He already gets plenty of movement speed from his ultimate's Bear Necessities passive and from his other abilities: {Note: Osiris is a melee champion who is always in ONE of his three animal forms and never takes on a human form, thus he has no need for boots.} Champions may normally place 3 invisible wards on the map and 1 visible ward on the map. But Osiris can place: at levels 1-5 can have 3 invisible wards and 2 visible wards on the map. at levels 6-10 can have 4 invisible wards and 2 visible wards on the map. at levels 11-15 can have 5 invisible wards and 2 visible wards on the map. at levels 16-18 can have 6 invisible wards and 2 visible wards on the map.

Playing AS Osiris:

(Going to spend a bit less time explaining HOW TO play him as I will how to PLAY AGAINST him so sorry for that in advance, but I feel he needs less explanation on how to PLAY AS than he does PLAY AGAINST)

The easiest and best way to describe his forms is to think of them in these terms:

Deer: Movement Speed (more MS as well as reduction decrease from enemies.) Wolf: Spell Damage and reflection Cougar: Auto Attack Damage and reflection.

If you are playing against a well balanced enemy team, Pick which form you feel most comfortable in and try to stay with that form. Change only as needed.

However: If you are playing against a heavy CC team, You may want to spend more time in Deer form, Even if you favor Cougar form. If you are playing against a heavy AD, you may want to spend more time in Cougar form, Even if you favor Wolf form. Likewise, If you are playing against a heavy AP team, you may want to spend more time in Wolf form, even if you favor Deer form.

With your Eagle companion at your side and Your clone totems handy, No matter what, you should have the BEAR NECESSITIES, to ensure that you stand a somewhat decent chance, with a little bit of determination, to enjoy playing against any foe, as Osiris, if you Morph your mind into it.

Recommended Masteries, Runes, Item Build

For Top, Jungle and Mid Roles: (FOR JUNGLE ROLE: use a jungle Item (not included below))

Masteries: 18/12/0 Keystone: Deathfire Touch Runes: Mark of Magic Penetration: x9, Seal of Armor: x9, Glyph of Magic Penetration: x9, Greater Quint of Magic Penetration: x3 Item Starting Build:item 1056 item 2003 item 3340 Final Build:item 3285 item 3089 item 3157 item 3512 item 3102 item 3026 item 3341

For Support Role:

Masteries: 12/18/0 Keystone: Windspeaker Runes: Mark of Magic Penetration: x9, Seal of Armor: x9, Glyph of Magic Resist: x9, Greater Quint of Magic Resist x3 Item Starting Build: item 3303 item 2003 x3 item 3340 Final Build:item 2301 item 3116 item 3050 item 3512 item 3190 item 3157 item 3341

You can Play ADC role, and build Osiris with AD, But I would recommend scaling him on AP if you do, as he does not scale AD. (while his clone totems DO deal physical damage, they scale off of AP)

Playing AGAINST Osiris:

Visual Note: First off, no matter which form he is in, you should note that there is a visual difference between Osiris' companions. but for the sake of explanation lets stick with the 1-5 deer levels.

Clone totem: deer will look exactly like Osiris without his morph. These are destructible... So attack these.

Eagle Companion: deer will be a ghostly form. These are NOT destructible.

Morph: deer will be the same size as Osiris before he activated this ability, but will be ENEMY CHAMPIONS... EITHER know who they were before morphing, or choose FIGHT OR FLIGHT. you dont want to be an Ashe by yourself being chased by a Blitzcrank deer. You can always tell Osiris apart from his allied champions during this spell, because he will be the bigger one.

While you may have some difficulty telling The clone totem deer from the Morph deer, as long as you are tracking Osiris himself (and the enemy team), this will not be an issue. Additionally, try to track the Clone HP, as if it is an Enemy Champion from Morph instead, its HP will almost undoubtedly be MUCH higher.

Now, lets pick a random champion to play against Osiris. Playing against Osiris: Lets say you are mid lane (burst mage) Leblanc against mid lane Osiris:

**Clone Totems: ** If you can, make sure to take these out whenever Osiris places them. Take out his clones as soon as possible.

Eagle Companion: As Leblanc, When Osiris is in Deer Form and Wolf form, he will either absorb or absorb AND reflect your spells back at you, when he calls his animal friends, so try to wait till his mother (The Eagle companion) leaves his side. Then make him pay for tattle telling, when you weren't even doing anything.

Morph: As Leblanc, This ability grants Osiris bonus AP, so if you have done a good job taking out his clones, and tracking when he last called his mommy, You should be able to still burst him down to at least send him hiding for a bit, if not take him out.

Heart of the Beast: As Leblanc, This ability grants Osiris boots and the ability to change forms. Like most ults, it has a sixty second window, So if he switches into Cougar form for what ever reason, Make Osiris pay for all his tattle telling, clone totems, morphing, and COUGAR STUPIDITY when playing against a Leblanc.

As requested.

Disregard HMSLegends re: lore length.

The core problem with Osiris is that his overall capabilities are heavily limited due to being able to only affect a fixed area and with a shared pool of charges between his basics. Losing out on boots is not a good trade for an extra ward either, nor is tying his basics to the ward system a good idea since it defies player expectations of both wards (an item-only thing) and placeable objects (independent of wards).

Your numbers are hella overtuned, by the way. Q clone is able to out-DPS anyone in bot lane for a significant portion of the game, W heal is immense given how safe it is to just leave it at the tower or a brush or anywhere inaccessible to the enemy, and E is impossible to deal with given that you can't disarm it without being in the stun zone.

But even then? Osiris isn't going to be fun no matter what you do. When he's overtuned, like now, you have to go out of your way to kill these totems (which don't need to be in convenient, easily-accessed spots to function, mind) or you'll never win - an uphill battle of attrition as his stupid heal wards heal off all your damage while his clones push forever and kill you for trying to stop them. When he's undertuned, which is highly probable after messing around with any numbers, you're left with a guy who places things and does nothing else. It's not terribly dynamic gameplay either way since Osiris isn't at much risk most of the time.

I'd heartily suggest looking at the current support pool again, then looking at some of the off-support options (Annie, Brand, etc.) and consider why they work. The main sticking point is the applied CC - supports tend to have oodles of CC, or are able to CC in a wide range, and can do so fairly reliably. The ones without as much CC compensate with allied buffs and shields, or raw damage in the case of off-support picks like Brand or Vel'Koz. You don't see this in Osiris - his CC is a placed ward that activates when an enemy hits its sight range, making it somewhat finicky most of the time (and straight-up OP in the best case - that is a wide-range SCALING stun that is easily ultimate-level power and would end a teamfight easily).

It's fine to have placeable objects in a support kit, but that can't be your only focus. You need to be able to have tools to act when you can make an opening and react when an enemy tries to do the same. Osiris is awkward at both due to all his basics sharing charges and his ult not really providing much help in that territory. I'd recommend you have one placeable object and leave it at that, and fill out the rest of the kit with good support tools. While Udyr and Nidalee have some of the animal theme, they don't quite get the "animal caster" theme you do, so you've got room to explore without being derivative.

Supporting that animal caster theme, you could employ several spells that use your ally as a proxy, empower your ally, or prevent your foe from hiding. Make your ally's next attack on a champion a ferocious charging assault with a pair of ghost wolves for bonus damage and a brief slow. Unleash a roar that shields allies and damages enemies. Mark an enemy such that the beasts in the brush will savage them if they come near. Call poisonous snakes to swarm an area and ground enemies with their venom. Signal carrion to hinder weakened enemies and set them up for the kill. Turn your ally into a bestial juggernaut capable of tearing off someone's face in a single blow. Just the tip of the iceberg here - once you get away from this totem-only deal, you'll be in a much better spot.

Make sure you ditch that ult no matter what you do though. Even if you were going full totembot (which I do not recommend), you need SOME immediate playmaking ability.

Osiris has a better chance than Apuzah. Not by much, but some. Apuzah is fatally flawed if you don't change his fundamental kit, while Osiris at least has a cool theme. Keep going.

Lastly, don't give everyone's opinions equal value. The ones with good, solid arguments behind them are more valuable than the ones that lack such substance, regardless of who's saying it.

THE RIVER KING's Review:

Lore: It’s a pretty in-depth and conclusive look into Osiris as a character, while also incorporating his kit pretty well; it was just riddled with grammar and spelling mistakes. You would do well to proofread before you publish. Other than that the one major complaint I had is that it wrapped up his story a little too neatly; maybe his mother should have stayed mysterious or not even show up at all - the story would have been a lot better had he simply did his totem-animal business and then woken up as a deer. The ending with hints at Nidalee seemed a bit rushed and didn’t add much to the story. Overall I think the structure of what you gave me was good but that it needed some trimming here and there.

Flow/Fun: One thing I noticed is that some of his base stats (attack damage, attack speed, armor) were pretty godly but others (mana, health) were pretty shit. Base stats don’t really factor into this but they are really wierd and encourage him to build a lot of mana and health to make up for his binary bases. Onto the kit. I’ll be blunt and say that Osiris is the weirdest champion on this list (and when he’s sharing it with the Tul, Balton, Roxanne, and Hush, that’s saying something). He isn’t really encouraged to lane so much as drop totems and prance around as a deer and give allies his auras - since his totems deactivate if he goes too far, he can just go support and soak EXP with a Coin, place his totems, and then just run around. Since his W reflects damage and his E is like a free Phage in deer form, he’s never really encouraged to interact with his lane outside of look pretty and give tenacity. Once he hits 6 though, he becomes a whole different beast. I’ll say off the bat that Wolf and Cougar Morphs are broken. Double damage on either every spell or every auto is just insane. If he’s paired with an ADC he can turn on cougar and jump into the enemies for a free double kill (especially since he gets attack speed and lifesteal too), or he can just roam as wolf and get a kill midlane with his mage/assassin (or botlane Ziggs, for that matter). He doesn’t do any damage on his own unless he goes full AD cougar and shreds anyone that comes within range of him, so playing him mid or jungle or top like you suggested is actually pretty bad. The amount of stats Osiris gives away for free in his auras and totems is just insane and he embodies passive gameplay - even worse than Beatrix above, because in the very least Beatrix interacts with you in lane. Osiris just runs around and blocks everything for his team while doubling their damage simply by existing, which is pretty toxic gameplay. His wierd ward/boot interactions feel tacked on and don’t make much sense as well.

Design Implementation: I think I said what I needed to say. Osiris is hilarious and bizarre, but also pretty badly designed and not interactive at all. I wish I could have given you a better review but Osiris falls short on a lot of categories.

Novelty: He’s plenty fucking unique, that’s for sure.

Cohesiveness: There isn’t enough of a kit to warrant me saying he’s cohesive. He runs around as a deer the first 6 levels and then switches to cougar or wolf depending on what damage his team does, all the while dropping totems for his pets. He doesn’t really affect the game in a proactive way and thus doesn’t really score well in terms of cohesion.

Raxustaucho's Review:

Lore:

His lore’s pretty interesting and pretty neatly ties his different animal forms into his story, but the biggest issue with it is that you more or less finished the best parts of his lore while telling it. This would be like if Ahri’s lore explained her backstory and her quest to become human, then went on to have her succeed and close on her integration into human society. Not the most exciting way to end a lore. It actually would have been fine enough if it included the three animals he saved (you can still include him nearly dying and taking on animal form permanently) and then ended without him having yet found his mother. This would leave us wondering if he could ever succeed now that he’s not human anymore, leaving it on a rather tense and uncertain note. As things are, I don’t see any particular reason that Nidalee wouldn’t like him, so his story hasn’t got anywhere to really go.

Flow/Fun:

Hello, Osiris the Giver Of Free Stats!

The amount of free goodies this guy gets is frankly absurd. His early game is abysmal since he’s stuck in deer form until level 1. Don’t get me wrong, deer form is actually pretty potent once he’s got help, but on his own, Osiris’ only form of damage beyond his Q (which I’ll get to) is to literally trick an enemy into beating him up when his ghost is out. This ability is likely to ride a fine line between broken or useless, as the 5 second cooldown and minor mana cost means this ability is pretty often available to Osiris, and if it reflects enough damage to win him trades then there’s not much a way to fight him early.

His Q is more really really annoying to deal with than anything else. It summons a slow and frail but hard-hitting pet every few seconds that chases after the nearest enemy champion in lane and tries to beat them to death before rolling over. Thinking back to what the wolfs in black market brawlers were like, I could see this being a massive pain, especially for melee champions.

The power on his deer form W also determines whether he can jungle or not, as he’s pretty helpless against jungle mobs without cougar form, which he cannot unlock until level 6.

Speaking of level 6, this is where the fun begins.

Starting from level 6 he gets to have fun in cougar form, which abruptly changes him from Wobuffet to Weavile. The free power behind the form in whole is absurd, he gets free movespeed, free attack speed, free lifesteal, and Master Yi’s passive on short cooldowns. I’m not sure if there’s any champion that beat cougar Osiris in a rock-em-sock-em robots match, but then again since his kit’s got no cc he comes off pretty similar to Shyvana in that regard, so he’s not very unique, I suppose. Since he gets his boots for free and without having to use an item slot, he scales especially well.

And if he gets behind? Well, that doesn’t matter, he can just switch to wolf form and let his mage allies carry him while he does literally nothing because his wolf form doesn’t mesh with his own kit in any way. His only method of personally making any use out of his wolf form is with his Q, which summons slow and weak pets that actively avoid doing any fighting in the jungle due to the way the skill is worded. Ironically, his W gives him free AP but because of the issue I just described, he has barely any reason to actually build any AP.

Okay, to be fair, he can just remain in cougar form and give all those nice goodies I mentioned earlier to his adc. I just mentioned mages first because I needed to bring up how poorly his wolf form helps him personally.

Much of his strength is in his auras, which are frankly way too powerful, all the moreso because Riot’s contempt for auras is made plain in the fact that there are only two left (Abyssal Scepter and Jarvan’s flag). The fact that he doesn’t have to do anything to unlock their effectiveness aside from leveling up (as the effectiveness of the defensive W and offensive E auras scale more with his enemies’ and allies’ stats than his own) is just salt in the wound, and means the only way to make Osiris actually fall off is if literally nobody on his team is capable of carrying a game.

When you get right down to it, Osiris can be an incredibly strong member of any team without doing literally anything on his own. All he has to do is survive the laning phase up on top lane (and conveniently enough deer form is pretty good at deterring trades), build tanky to make sure his auras don’t go away, and have somebody on his team who can make use of his free stats to carry. I hope it’s self-evident how boring and unhealthy it would be to have a champion who can have a huge impact just by happening to be around and activating his skills.

Design Implementation:

My huge tanget up there basically carries over into this. It seems you were going for a sort of supportive champion with Osiris. You certainly succeeded, but you did it in an incredibly unhealthy way.

Novelty:

Weeeeell he’s certainly… unique… Not in the most healthy of ways, though.

Cohesiveness:

The only issue I take with his character to kit cohesiveness is where all of his passive benefits are coming from. His different forms and his personal benefits for being in them are fine enough, and I think you might have been better off focusing on those.

Foodtank's Review: Lore: The lore takes a while to get through, and the writing quality could use some work, but all in all, it does basically everything lore needs to do. We briefly learn about Osiris’ childhood before following him on a journey to find his mother. Along the way we see his compassion for the natural world come out and we are introduced to his totems. The one drawback is when Osiris is unwittingly transformed. One would think this is a rather traumatic experience for a young man, and spending a little more time on how he got over that shock would make the lore near-perfect. Flow/Fun: Osiris’ kit is quite complex, and takes a while to grasp. It seems like he is essentially three different champions that follow the same mechanical structure with different thematic effects. As an imaginative creation, the final product is impressive. When it comes to gameplay, however, most players would likely be frustrated by being stuck in a single form for a minute. Team compositions generally have a diversity of damage and fighting styles, meaning that a player could very easily make the wrong choice of form and lose a fight because of that choice. It is likely that players would eventually figure out a form that is ‘best’ and simply stick with it. Finally, there does not seem to be any reason to prevent Osiris from buying control wards; this would actually become a serious weakness, as control wards can be incredibly powerful in the vision game. Design Implementation: Osiris has very little to offer in the way of damage. Every ability is utility focused, and although this sometimes means offering damage boosts, Osiris himself has NO DAMAGING ABILITY, unless you count the totem clones, which seem highly unreliable. What this essentially means is that Osiris would have to go support, since his jungle clear would be abysmal and he can’t fight in solo lanes. What he’s missing as a support, though, is cc. None to be found. This is unheard of among supports, and rare among champs in general. Novelty: The main novelty in Osiris’ kit lies in the triad form mechanic. This allows him to be one of three champions, essentially, that he can choose. Damage reflection and granting spell vamp/lifesteal to allies around him is also a novel concept. The totems are, as noted by OP, basically zz’rot portals. Cohesiveness: Each of Osiris’ forms, taken by itself, unsurprisingly fits together internally, as that is the whole point: each form focuses on a particular source of damage/utility. And he definitely feels like a shaman, with animals, totems and mostly utility focused abilities rather than damage. Taken as a whole, though, Osiris seems to be trying to do too many things at once, and the kit ends up coming off as messy and overly complex, with little cohesion between the forms.
