"'Kill Steal' Thoughts" from a Support Main/Secondary ADC

If you had woke up today, and everyone around you had no legs and you asked them, "Why do you have no legs? What happened to them?" and they said, "We look better without them." Would you remove your legs and the ability to walk, so that you could fit in?

If your support takes a few kills, by accident or zeal. do not belittle them or continually make comments about it. don't even let it get to you. you are better off having them by your side than not. And your negative, selfish "kill steal" comment could dramatically impact their game play negatively whether consciously or unconsciously. Think of it as "Kill Secure" not "Kill Steal". Do not remove (verbally abuse) your legs (your support) and the ability to walk(ability to win), so that you can fit in (get a good personal grade).

As a support main and secondary main ADC, most of the time when I "KS", as support it is purely unintentional, and having played next to some really good adc's and some adc's who were testing the waters woefully, trust me when I say, It's more your fault as the adc that you didn't get the kill, than it is your supports that he/she got the kill.

Support isn't there to simply wittle down creep hp. Part of the role is helping deal damage, remaining competitive in gold/cs/xp, and helping secure kills. There's no such thing as KS in a game where every kill earns 30-60 seconds of denied cs and gold for the team, especially when the opponent would get away and heal otherwise. In one match ADC pinged me every time I touched creeps and even told me to leave them alone, yet only had 14 cs 4 minutes into the game...

In the same way that jungle doesn't only gank and farm, support doesn't only heal and buff. The easiest rounds I've played were ones where there was no need for roles. We knew what was needed, and who was able to fill in until help arrived.

Amen to that good sermon~ Because if a team or even the ADC gripes about support getting a kill then giving them a GJ for securing the kill, Then it just proves the ADC or team members should just stick to CoD or MW and enjoy their hype induced adrenline rushes for easily mowing targets down, instead of being in the MOBA scene.

But yeah, Supports should not be limited to just being the constant butt buddy like a TF2 pocket medic, they also should be allowed to freely act in fights and laning so they can effectively keep enemies from initating, set up a kill moment and even secure a kill if they have a longer range kit then their ADC friend. A Support who can keep you alive and throw out wards everywhere is good. But a better one is one who can effectively help secure objectives, split push lanes at perfect moments like any other of your team mates while the team is split up and/or your ADC or other team mates are busy in a team fight that they do not need you at the moment. Instead of CoD playing for kills, its always a good idea to play for objectives, since unlike a enemy champion being killed, they can't have those turrets respawn.~

Its scary to go against a 4 man power house team, but even more so when they also have a support who is just as dangerous and he isn't belittled to a weak item kit to constantly put out wards the entire match.

one time I had a thresh hook fizz in mid, and fiddle came in and was fighting, they both were low hp. fiddle ended up dying cause thresh stayed back after the hook cause he didn't want to "ks", but if he went in they both would have been alive and fizz would have been dead.

seems rather silly to me that people think KS is a thing

Agreed.. which is better.. A KS or the enemy limping away with a sliver of health?? (I don't "hear" whinings about KS...)

Almost all players in lower Elo complain about KSing. On my smurf that was in silver I heard it ALL the time.

On my main once I started playing with high Gold and Platinum players they almost never utter those words. They completely understand the situation and intentions of the support to help them survive.

Support is my secondary and Leona and Sona actually both deal quite a bit of damage sometimes. The slight changes to Leona after using her ultimate makes it so she deals more damage with auto attacks.

I agree. As a support man if they are running into turret protection or adc is close to death I'm going to kill secure. I'll back off towers to help them secure more money but I'm not a spectator I'm your support when your in trouble. As an in frequent adc I want pressure on opp, dont work my lines down it makes it harder to secure cs for me personally.

Lmfao are you for real? Seasoned low bronze player "support main," plays Xin Zhao, Xerath, and other cancer bot lane, while your ADC hopes to God you actually take sightstone and upgrade your support item eventually. No dude, no one should trust your word on anything!

I'm a support main here and i just wanted to put in my two cents. (Yes I know, Bronze, hur dur dur. I haven't played a ranked since I got dragged in by a friend for placements) I generally don't touch cs just because multiple people flip out over it and I know I sometimes don't have the best handle on freezing a lane and etc. It leaves me free to focus on poking and watching map, etc etc. And yes, kill stealing could be a problem if it is intentionally done. If I play Sona, it is pretty easy to kill steal early by watching for opponent's health and jamming my finger into q for the skill damage and a power chord auto for a large amount of damage on an opponent adc or squishy support. That being said, having your support take a single kill because either you couldn't get to it or it's a struggle where you were both low and autoing the enemy hoping not to die, then why are you freaking out anyway?

One or two kills is forgivable, and probably isn't on purpose anyway. If I steal a kill, I'm going to apologize. But if you are gonna freak out on me, I'm even more likely to not care. It really depends on the SITUATION.

This is probably just me but if we are in lane together, and I accidentally steal a kill that we both worked to obtain and you freak out on me over it, I'll probably steal a few more just for spite.

Agree fully. I think complaining about ks'ing is the stupidest thing. Everybody needs gold, and in the end it's still a net gain for the team.

Too many times I've seen opponents get away because someone has tried to leave the kill for a teammate. I'd rather secure a kill than risk it getting away.

I'm agreeing with you here.

ADCs actually do damage so if a support is somehow able to yoink that kill, if everyone is attacking and using their abilities basically off cooldown, then it's freak luck.

What should I do if the support is not even achieving the roll of a support. I agree there are kill secures but there are also kill steals. When a support intentionally starts roaming to lanes that do not need help and constantly gets kills even though the laner can get the kills by himself... I main orianna and I very rarely need help at mid but if I start the game decently I will hit my goal on getting an S (which is extremely hard and I need as many kills and cs as I need) and a lux support comes and literally takes kills when I just meed one extra second for my q to recharge and get it myself... or take the cs I need with her e... she did not buy one support item or ward trought the whole game. And ai think there is a problem when the mid has less kills than suport although mid is carrying the game.. All in all what could you sugest to do with supports like that where they are neither helping in defensive ways nor helping in offensive ways and only looking for use for itself?

Morality Coach8/13/2016, 9:11:17 PM1 votes

The only time where you should KS on support is if your adc was born with no brain stem and you're playing Zyra or Brand.

Almost any other time you're bad, lol.

Morality Coach8/13/2016, 9:23:20 PM1 votes

Support isn't important at all stop KSing people.

Itankyou8/14/2016, 9:46:51 PM1 votes

But if it's clearly intentional, flame away.

My champion Draven Literally blows if he is ks'ed 6 times on purpose.

Tell riot to change Draven passive and I will stop saying 'ks' (I don't type more than that, I just let them know what they have done because most people don't even know what his passive is).

EDIT: I was kidding on the flame away part, don't do that u'll get banned.

I'd say ks anyone but Draven and you are fine, but if u REPEATEDLY on purpose ks me and call me Tyler 1 and flame me in all chat then you can find the coldest corner of the summoners rift and sit there for eternity.
