Anyone remember when kench release was considered a troll?
Correct me if im wrong, I remember seeing a lot of people say that.
and look where we are now.

He was considered a troll because his kit... does troll allies. He wasn't a "troll pick", he was just a troll because of how his W could screw up his teammates. He can still screw up his teammates with W, whether that be on purpose or by accident.
Only reason you never see people complaining about him being a troll now is because people are too busy complaining about how utterly horrendous his design is and Tahm spends more time using W to kill enemies than save allies nowadays.
Then remember how Riot buffed the everliving crap out of him to make him less so?
There are 2 options for a new champ: Overly OP or completely troll. Then when people realize how to play them its OP regardless.
so far has been pretty damn balanced. Illaoi was the other way around. People thought she was OP, turns out she has too much counterplay and is absurdly easy to avoid.
I played nothing but Tahm Kench after he came out. Had builds prepped for his release, spent like 12000 IP on runes for him. I even went as him for Halloween. He got played at worlds and now I never get to use him any longer.
same here exept for the halloween part, tahm was my favorite (even tho i was dissapointed riot focused too much on the eating aspect over the demon deal making aspect of his lore)
... a lot of (low elo) people ...
Because he was over buffed? Because the abundance of wards last season made his ult unusable?
On release, Tahm Kench was literally abused for trolling. People were picking him just to screw around and try to spit allies into turrets and such. That didn't mean he was underpowered or considered underpowered on release.
The same thing happened with Bard and his ult, and to a lesser extent Kalista and her spear binding animation and ult.
I remember when people said "new
is the most balanced fighter in the game"
OP = Cash. Riot isn't dumb.
I was calling him OP since PBE and i dont even own a PBE account. I could tell right off the bat that his devour mechanic was going to be a pain in the ass while his ability to tank with grey health, have his damage scale on health, and have an obnoxious range on his stun/slow was going to make him toxic.
I remember i actually spent about the first 4-5 days of his release on the boards crying out that he was OP and that he needed nerfs and got downvoted into hell. then he was Pick/Ban at worlds and people were like "when did he get so strong?". Meanwhile i'm sitting here going "He was released that way fellas, how did you not see this?"
nobody listened. they had to see for themselves. it was so weird.
Well, release Tahm could literally team kill so...
just like him, and
notice a patern ? yeah jhin is bad, but he really isnt, he has a different playstyle, im laughing my ass off if it does the same with Ao shin (im not calling him aurelion sol fk you rito)
and how he was buffed like 6 patches consecutively after that?
