Is Camping Mid The Optimal Strategy In The New Jungle?
So I've been playing the S5 preseason jungle and I noticed myself camping mid a lot more than the old jungle. The new camp timers seem to really favor the jungler camping mid over the other lanes, and provides a disincentive to ganking the other lanes. If I go to top or bot (especially bot with the supports sightstone) and get caught by a ward, my walk is typically all the way to wolfs for bot or wraiths for top, instead of the old jungle having one of the camps up or almost up on a side after you go for a gank to the outer lanes.
Has anyone else felt this? I'm relatively new to jungling, but it really feels like it pays off to get me and my mid lane carry kills where if I don't make the play it's a short walk, over trying to feed my ADC or a top laner where failing multiple times can really put me behind. I've found this to be true with all my usual junglers: Vi, Nocturn, Wukong, and Warwick.
Obviously helping bot lane if they get a down couple kills or going in to help a top lane who keeps getting poked out of lane is still worth trying, but if everything is going about fair in all the lanes, I've got a camper van parked on midlane, and only go top or bot when they're REALLY overextended.
