How ranked League of Legends works from a person who has never played ranked solo queue before.

DISCLAIMER: I have played ranked before. A pre-made 3v3 team with my friends and me just for funsies. But never solo queue. Now, from what I have seen from the boards throughout the years, I believe I can make a solid understanding on how ranked works and how each elo reacts to one another. Also, I have been playing for five years, more than most players can say they have. Still never played solo queue ever. clears throat

Now it all starts at Bronze, which is a simmering cesspool of trolls, ragers, and flamers that belong in the depths of Hades as apposed to a spot on your team. In this elo, there are nothing but trolls and flamers on your team, while the enemy team is filled with chimpanzees similar to your own, but without the brain damage. ANYTHIN' GOES HERE. This is the "elo hell."

Next we go to Silver, which is where you get after finally getting out of Bronze and you just decide to sit there and enjoy it because I can't think of what to write here and this is a very bad run on sentence.

Gold, is the ACTUAL bomb diggidey. This is where you get, if you are good. But in all honesty, the Gold elo level actually seems to be a genuinely good place to be stuck at. You get the season rewards (as far as I know,) you are respected and at the same time resented by those below you, and at least minorly respected by those about you. Save for those ones, but I'll get to them.

Platinum is the very next, and just like Silver I can't really say anything about it because I don't really know all that much about it. I can only infer that it is similar to Gold. Respected and hated by those below you, and vice versa. But, you are not respected by those above you. You know who I'm talking about. THEM.

Diamond. According to guides, the boards, the Reddit, and other sites like that, this is where the best of the best, and the worst of the worst lie. People here are self entitled dicks who think that just because they got lucky a few times means that they get to belittle those below them. GAH! Who do they think they are anyway? Or, on the other side of the very largely misshapen coin, you have the quiet people who make things like guides to help out other players with their wide variety of knowledge. These guys are cool... I guess. (Am I the only one who sometimes feels like the guide makers are secretly belittling you by showing how "great" they are at champion X?)

And finally, the mysterious, the wonderful, the magnificent, the... alluring Challenjour. Now THIS, is where you belong if you are in Bronze. You get held back by loser trolls and flamers with your full AP support Lee Sin build (actual experience I have seen this) you know will work if these scrubs don't keep holding you back. But in all honesty, if you make it here by working at it, you deserve all the praise showered with the rank. YOU deserve challenjour. gg.

And also obligatory quiz!

Is it before or after Challenger?

Between Diamond and Challenger. It's basically the waiting list for those pushed out of Challenger or almost there, because it doesn't have a limit of how many can be there.

Platinum is like silver all over again. Everybody in silver thinks they're gold material and shit talk everybody they see and flame. Platinum everybody thinks they're diamond and flame everybody and shit talk every second.

From someone who's played ranked and stay in Bronze: There are a couple of bad games, but as long as you don't end up in the flamer's queue, it's not terrible. I've had some shitty teammates, but that's more a "people are dicks" thing than a "Bronze is the worst place to be" thing.

From my friend who climbed to Plat: People are the fucking same all the way up, get used to it. The only thing the changes is how well they can play (most of the time).
