We Can't Have it Both Ways!

We can't realistically expect counter play to ranged champions in top implemented while also expecting champions specifically tailored to do just that Yasuo to be nerfed into the ground!

Choose!

Dumpster the melee altogether or make it possible for melee to do their jobs where they are meant to do their jobs?

of course we can

not by changing every melee to specially counter ranged like yasuo, but by changing how ranged works in general ala dota2. dota2 has an entire system balancing ranged champions with a mechanic. what riot needs to do is also finding something in the game that helps melee overall against ranged champions. if you do this, you will end up with a good balance between melee and ranged.

what riot is actually doing: changing the game to favor more ranged champs: -new masteries -plants -every item changes reducing drawbacks of ranged -nerfing creep aggro --->in season 1

But how do we make melee champions that are good against ranged not great against melee.

You'd think being squishy would fix that, but then we get tank Yasuo.

Tank Yasuo is expensive and doesn't really do as good as it used to. It is a lot better to just build full damage and hope that you survive a team fight.

I know it's weaker now, but it still existed which is a problem for champions with similar strengths in the future.

I will tell you now that Irelia is basically what tank Yasuo dreamed of being, except with more damage and utility. Irelia provides burst, conistent damage, high tenacity, mobility, and built-in sustain. If Riot ever releases more melees with high mobility, damage, and low cool downs you will basically see the same thing played. Also, when the assassin update comes out theres a chance that bruiser Rengar and Kha'zix will be played just because its safer than going assassin and it works.

Yup. My reasons to hate Irelia list still checks out.

Are you saying Yasuo is bad?

maybe ranged should be less mobile across the board that would help

or maybe halve their lategame damage since they can already bully us melee's in lane
