Miss Fortune Tips & Tricks

IMHO Miss Fortune is underrated. Still, I think people still don't necessarily know some gameplay tricks that could really help their MF play. I have some advice and gameplay tips below.

  1. Lane bullying. Maybe I'm just lucky, or my supports were godlike, but I've yet to lose lane as Miss Fortune unless I was being completely and clearly stupid. For an ADC, Miss Fortune's got a strong laning phase, so use it! Push for trades, harass with your Q, and don't be afraid if extended trades either; even early on the Impure Shots passive does aid your AA damage significantly. This is probably the best and worst aspect of MF play: one the one hand you can really snowball off of just 1 or 2 kills bot, but if you don't push your early advantages you'd probably have been better of picking another ADC. Despite how (at least I think) she scales decently well later on, her lane bullying is crucial to success.

  2. Landing Double-Up (Q) trick: This one little trick is possibly the most crucial aspect of laning as MF. You know how you seem to never land the 2nd bounce on a champion? It's not because your a baddie, (unless you are kappa) but because the 2nd bounce of the bullet prioritizes minions over enemy champs. There's a long list on the lolwiki of how it's coded for details, but what you need to know basically is that it prioritizes units with impure shots stacks on them. This means that if you auto an enemy champ to apply a stack and then use Q on a minion between you two it'll hit them, almost guaranteed. Obviously, you still have to aim it in a straight line and within a 40 degree cone, but even so this trick really elevates your trading and poke in lane.

  3. auto-Q-auto reset. Exactly what it sounds like. You auto, cast Q on the enemy champ, and auto again. Make sure you input the autos on your command, if you let the AI do it, it's much slower. But specifically the last 2 commands of the combo will reset your auto for some nice burst. I think the first one will as well, but I'm not as sure.

  4. Don't be afraid to use your Ult! This might be a little more debatable. Still, when I want to back and there's an enemy champ in range, I'll use it and then B. It's not a big deal, and MF ult can act as a strong deterrent. Last game I used my ult to defend a mid lane turret from the enemy team's siege. If you want to B and there's a lot of minions, or if you want to defend, just use it. Considering how MF's ult is "Trash" and you have to stop and channel it, it's debatable whether you'd get full use of it anyways in teamfights if it's on CD.

...And, I think that's it! I'm still learning though, so I was wondering if other MF players had any advice, whether gameplay or build. I like to rush mostly raw AD and then some crit and attack speed towards the end. MF is an AD caster with auto attacks, and I feel the flat AD benefits her better early on.

I don't play MF nor do i think shes bad but if people actually pick her up and become good with her. They have 0 fear of being banned since she has like the lowest ban rate at .02% and a 52.06% win rate

The reason why she is not picked much in higher elo is because of her lack of mobility and range, this would means your team comp would requires good frontliner, preferably one with a lot of CCs to keep her safe (simular to Kog Maw), even then, most would still prefer ADC with more mobility and range. However she is by no means underpowered, quite potent in the right hands.
