Viktor, Xerath, Orianna, Leblanc... I don't know what to do

I'm not understanding what the problem is. Three of those champs can safely farm without any real threat from Cho, and Leblanc is nearly impossible to hit with the knockup if you are smart. You'll probably need ganks to kill Cho, but outside of that what's the problem?

Because people think that if they dont lolstomp people in lane and end up 5/0 they ''lost''.

Well, when he can burst as much as viktor while being tankier and having more CC, I can't do much. If I don't stomp him, he will eventually stomp me. It is easy as fuck to chogath set up a gank, but ganking cho gath is not always easy

If Cho is building AP, he is squishy and only has a big HP bar, nothing more. Also, that means that most of his damage is in a easily evaded Q unless you are melee.

If Cho is build tank, he cant burst you at all.

Viktor can dance around Cho and kite him to hell with Q and its upgraded MS boost. Every single champion you listed has a way to evade his Q, which is the only way for him to set up a gank or any damage at all.

Just saying, most midlaners have trouble dealing with 3k HP even if they have 0 MR, and that's just from level 11 + rod of ages. God forbid he goes for an abyssal as well...

Farm until mid/late game when you outscale him by a mile.

One does not simply outscale cho gath when he can build AP-offtank and still 100-0 squishies.

^THIS, People always try to say " he is easy to avoid and stuff ". He is a AP-offtank that burst anything with less than 2.3k of health.

Ganks. Cho'Gath can heal all the harass most of the times. 3-4 Silences ult is enough to kill most midlaners ( if not less)

Silence none of those champions should even be near the range of.

Unless they stealth-buffed W's range, all champions you mentioned should be by default not even near Cho.

Cho gath is impossible to lane against. Harrassing him is impossible because of his sustain. Either you pick a resourceless champ that deals consistent damage like vlad, zed or u can pick someone that just farms hard (anivia)

Cho'gath is ridiculously strong atm. I 100% ban him.

I don't know how to play against it, sadly.

I guess you could try doing whatever top laners did against cho'gath... since it seems like he wasn't as much of a problem up there?

Pick someone else.

his AP ratios are insane. Also, he has a ap ratio on his true damage. How do you outscale that?

He is immobile with long cool-downs and either short ranged or telegraphed spells. Pretty much every mage who is either mobile or has a spammable long ranged spell out scales him simply from those two factors alone.

thats... not how outscaling works.

to outscale someone you have to, well, outscale them

Chogath is only good at stoping snowballers and in-your-face assassins. Both Vicktor and Orianna can buy Liandri's (and Rylai's) to burn him down. Also both have always been more teamfight mages that solo laner curbstompers, so wait for those teamfights, farm and make good teamfights.

Also, Chogath is supposed to counter LeBlanc, and Xerath too in a sense. Even then, Xerath can farm without problems, and LB can roam since Cho has mediocre pushing potential and is too slow to follow up.

Yes, the game starts in champion select, and not only stomping in lane you can end up winning.

What a tragedy.

Liandri and rylai on viktor? Orianna needs mana regen early. It is also not a easy investment to buy both liandri and rylai to start being effective against cho gath.

Voluug131 votes

And Cho gath doesnt start with 6 feast stacks either. I am not saying ''rush Liandri/Rylai'' neither. But hp+mgpen+Ap+%damage on spell is chogath counter on 2 items.

And Viktor's ult with the Lianlai combo is a deadly tank chunking machine.

Cho gath has mediocre pushing potential WHAT? ALL his abilities are AoE, except ult.

Voluug132 votes

And he goes OoM after 3 Qs with 0 mobility. Heck you even can fake a roam and gank him when he pushes.

Big Bang Bob1 votes

I would like to describe tanky AP Chogath's laning phase as training for late game, because late game, getting hit by his Q can be a death sentence Thresh.

So just practice not getting hit.
