Why pick Talon over Ekko now?

Similar styles except Ekko doesn't need a ton of plat pen, has longer range dash, poke/siege, aoe stun, shield, and an idiot proof re-do button that can also 1 shot squishies.

Very similar passives but Ekko can trigger the effect after 2 stacks with a spell or auto on the 3rd, but Talon can only apply stacks with spells and can only trigger the effect with a basic attack after the 3rd stack.

Basically seems like a lot more risk and work for less reward.

Inb4, Parkour is just not special, Ekko can pretty much do it with his E and without on-terrain cooldown.

ok, ekko also has insane mobility and equal to more damage. so that leaves the 2.5 second stealth tied to his ultimate, i think the rewind time+heal pwns that.

Also this same could be said about ALOT of champs...Why Pick X when Y does that but better...

I think that was a problem with Ekko for the longest time. Why pick X mid laner or Y top laner over Ekko when you can just play Ekko, abuse Triforce or IBG along with Ferver, and be a TON safer.

Ekko doesnt fit into that situation anymore. You cant abuse the damage from fervor compared to other top laners anymore (nerfed his base damages and auto), abuse the cc (they removed the passive slow), or abuse the heal scaling (new heal isnt worth unless you build ap). Triforce tank is meh, ap is actually pretty good. Ekko does have his risks though as ap. He loses a lot of potential damage from wasting ult for safety.

How useful was the passive slow anyway? I don't remember how much it slowed, but his Q also slows. So it wasn't like he was lacking slows (passive, Q, and W). I was also just commenting on the past. Even with all of the nerfs, it seems it's still a question.

I think one of the easiest arguments for this is AP or AD, If you have a full AD or AP comp the enemy team has an easier time building against you. Naturally If they play the same, then play Ekko when your team needs AP and Talon if they need AD.
