If your chosen in Team Builder then immediately leave...

SnugglePuggle94··10 votes·1,854 views

If someone is nice enough to accept you into Team Builder, and let's say your the ADC and they have a mid and a top laner, all they were waiting for is a jungler and a support along with you, DON'T LEAVE THE SECOND YOU GET IN. More often than not a support comes really quickly after you come and the second you leave, one comes! (This happens to me a lot). SO DON'T DO IT.

My rant is over.

Sincerely,

A Frustrated Summoner

IDK, I go into Team Builder to strictly play Karma because I get flamed in ranked for choosing her mid or support. If I enter teambuilder, top is Vlad, Mid is Yasuo, ADC is Jinx, and Jungler is Nasus then I'm indefinitely leaving. That team has minimal CC and is in-conducive to what a Karma player needs to succeed. Yes it's still winnable, but a team like that excels if their lanes have individually won.

SnugglePuggle942 votes

You can still win with a team like that. Don't leave just because you think you can't. It really pisses people off to see that "Oh we have a support finally yay we can play!" then bam a second after you come in you leave just because you see the team doesn't have enough CC. They waited forever for a support and you go ahead and leave. Wow.

TangerineTiger8 votes

I'm not going to play with a team comp I don't like just because you waited for a support. I want a win and I will team hop until I get a comp that I believe in.

I'm not going to be the sacrifice in teambuilder because you built a shit comp and think just because you waited a long time that you are entitled to someone pledging at least 20 minutes of their time for what is probably a loss.

NOTE I am not saying that you DID build a shit comp just stating that is why I would leave.

SnugglePuggle942 votes

MOST team comps in TB are not SHIT. So don't leave even if you don't like a Teemo mid or whatever. Yea if its a Tryndamere bot lane you can leave, but if the comp is somewhat respectable don't leave.

Wow. People like you...ridiculous.

UP2003 votes

People like you thinking they have the authority to tell others what they can and can't do is ridiculous. I'm sorry you don't like waiting in team builder but our world doesn't revolve around impatient little babies like you.

SnugglePuggle941 votes

I'm not an impatient dude so your rude. I wait for teams to build. I'm ranting about the people who don't.

UP2002 votes

Yea if its a Tryndamere bot lane you can leave

We don't need your permission....

SnugglePuggle941 votes

I'm not giving anyone permission or telling them what to do. Just giving options. Goodness.

UP2001 votes

So don't leave even if you don't like a Teemo mid or whatever. Yea if its a Tryndamere bot lane you can leave,

You're condemning for leaving team builder because of one comp that we disagree with but it's ok to leave for a different comp that you disagree with. That's what is ridiculous here.

The entire point of Team Builder is that the players get to find teams that they want to play with, with the cost being longer queue times. The captain can choose whether or not to accept a specific candidate player, and in turn that player can look at the team and decide if they want to play with them or not.

That's the point. You are not forced to play with the first group you come across; instead, players are empowered to help build the team that they want.

SnugglePuggle941 votes

I know what TB is. No need to explain it. Most teams have a good comp and people leave just because they don't want to wait for a jungler or a support. They want to be the last person accepted into a team so they game can get started right away, so it screws the team over that you left because they waited for a long time to get you.

UP2004 votes

I know what TB is.

Clearly you don't if you are complaining about people leaving.

SnugglePuggle941 votes

Yes I do.

Nameless Voice4 votes

Then you should complain about people leaving team builder teams which aren't full instead of complaining about people who leave teams for any reason.

Usually:

  • Leave immediately - didn't like the team composition.
  • Stay for a few seconds and then leave - got bored of waiting since the team isn't full yet.
SnugglePuggle941 votes

That's basically what I said. People who leave when jungler and support are still available, hence "team not full." And people that wait for a few seconds then leave because they don't want to wait.

I've been playing this game for a long time and they finally made a mode where I can see exactly what everyones picking AND still have an option to get out without getting locked out of Q for it. Is this not the exact point of teambuilder? Also its a tank meta, chances are the enemy team is going to have at least 2. If you have none, chances are even if you killed it in lane once teamfighting starts your going to lose because you have no front line. Why would I want to enter a game where the odds are already against me before the match even starts? You absolutely need a tank right now if you want to win consistently. Sure a fringe comp can work from time to time but I'm in matchmaking to practice support. It's bad practice if I'm playing with a comp I'd never see in ranked play.

SnugglePuggle942 votes

Most often than not the teams do have tank. And if they don't, why don't YOU play a tank? Don't just leave it up to others to make the comp you want. Do it yourself. Play Sejuani or Taric support. Warwick jungle, whatever.

Nameless Voice5 votes

Not everyone wants to play a tank. Often people want to play a specific champion with a team composition that fits them, so they will look at the various teams available until they find the one that they want.

By your argument, if you're complaining that people leave teams with no support, why aren't you playing support?

SnugglePuggle941 votes

Look at my match history dude. I've been playing support a LOT in team builder these days as I have been having success with Lux, Sejuani, and Zyra bot.

AMYS GRAVE5 votes

Most often than not the teams do have tank. And if they don't, why don't YOU play a tank?

... because i have already chosen my champion before i saw the team i was going to be matched with and now i cant change it.

SnugglePuggle941 votes

You can always consider choosing a tank before you choose accept. Duh.

AMYS GRAVE4 votes

That's not how team builder works. You lock in your role and champion, then you see the team you will be paired with, but you cant change your champion once you have queued up.

SnugglePuggle941 votes

I know that. But you can choose to play a tank support or whoever then others that you do.

AMYS GRAVE4 votes

If i pick a tank support then get matched with 4 other tanks i can't change my champion because i have already queued up. The only option is to play or to find another group. This problem is not one that is resolvable by which champion i queue up as.

Nameless Voice5 votes

Solo players don't "accept". The team captain see them, and can choose to accept them or not, then they are placed into the team. The only way to not accept a team is, you guessed it, to hit the button to find another team, after you're already in the team.

SnugglePuggle941 votes

I forgot the word for it but the button you choose to put yourself in TB queue. That one.

UP2004 votes

Once you have pushed that button you have already chosen your champion and can't change it. You can stop displaying your ignorance of how team builder works now.

SnugglePuggle941 votes

I know that goodness. But you can still choose to go tank instead of someone else.

Anotherherolost6 votes

And also I'm not "screwing over" anyone by leaving, just making you wait an extra 30 seconds - 2 minutes.

SnugglePuggle942 votes

A lot of the times its way more than that. So don't leave cause you are screwing over the team.

TangerineTiger6 votes

Alright fine I won't leave. I'll just stay in a game I'll hate playing probably feed and then you can see what screwing over a team really means.

Nameless Voice5 votes

What if someone joins and sees that the team being built doesn't fit them? For example, queues up as an assassin jungler and the team has Teemo top, or queues up as a squishy support and ends up in a team with Kalista?

SnugglePuggle941 votes

People who leave after they get in is because they are too impatient to wait for a support and jungler.

Reaper Soraka6 votes

That's really not a universal truth, it's just the only reason you're seeing for someone to leave. A lot of players want to have a specific team setup, which often causes them to be extremely picky on their teammates champions. Someone who want a traditional support would never accept a Teemo or Xerath. Perhaps they want a knock-up or two to go with their Yasuo pick. Having some champion select organization/synergy was the entire reason Team Builder was created.

When people are accepted into a team-builder lobby they do not get to see the group in advance. Maybe they do not like the picks so far. Or they are look for something specific to work with. Do not assume people leave right away cause it is not full.

SnugglePuggle941 votes

Once they are accepted they can see who is in the lobby. Duh.

Nameless Voice3 votes

Right, and then they leave when they don't like what they see, and you complain about them.

SnugglePuggle941 votes

Most teams do not have bad comps. In fact they are usually good. I'm complaining about them leaving because they are too impatient to wait for a jungler and support.

Anivia top Braum mid Ahri jungle Evelynn ADC Aatrox support

If I see teams like this, I do have the rights to constantly leave teams such as this.

Anotherherolost4 votes

If I enter in as support, and you have no tank, sorry I'm leaving. If I enter in as support and I'm the second one or third in the group to enter, sorry I'm leaving. I play support in teambuilder to start a game 30 seconds after I open my client, not to wait around.

SnugglePuggle943 votes

Wow, how ridiculously rude. You are screwing over a team that could help you win. Not all teams need to have a tank to win.

zPOOPz5 votes

how is it rude and how is leaving screw over a team? You simply wait for the next guy to come along. The whole point of teambuilder is to play what you want with a team comp you "relatively" want.

leaving once the game had started is rude. leaving teambuilder if you dont like the comp before matchmaking started is NOT rude. You are not entitled to the very first or second supp that comes along.

SnugglePuggle941 votes

A team usually waits a long time for a support. So the first time a viable one comes but then its right after you leave we could've had a full comp. So yes it screws the team over. They have to wait even longer for another one to come.

zPOOPz5 votes

that is not his problem. why is it rude for him to leave because he doesnt like the comp but it is fine to force him to stay? Do you honestly want a teammate in a 20+ minutes match that hated the team comp from the get-go? He is usually the very first guy to rage and flame and afk when things go south.

You are not entitled to call anyone rude for not liking your team comp and leave just because you waited a long time. Calling him rude for that is like throwinga mini-tantrum. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you are not a kid.

UP2004 votes

That's the price of playing popular roles.

Deal with it.

Anotherherolost4 votes

I'm a Leona main so yea I do play a tank and I still leave if there's no second tank either top or jungle. Look at my TB support game history. I rarely lose because I stand by these simple principles. I don't understand the frustration because I don't go into team builder with hopes of playing anything but supp so I never wait too long. Because of that I may be a bit biased of the struggle. The real enemy here is everyone hating to play support and in turn putting supports in high demand. If I had to wait as long as a top or mid in team builder I probably would settle for a less meta comp but as the game stands right now I can see 10 teams in 1 minute so I'm sorry, I'm gunna be choosy.

BestTristMyHaus1 votes

I'm an ADC main and I agree with this. If I join and you have no tank (even if you have a support most times) I'll usually leave. (if I'm last to join and the support isn't some stupid pick I may give it a go) I think it's hilarious that the OP starts with "If someone is nice enough to accept you into Team Builder" and then demands that you not leave. Look I'll ride out long waits (20-30 mins if need be) for a good support if the rest of the comp is solid. But if I pop in on a TB and it's: Ahri mid Irelia top and maybe even Shaco jg

Then I'm gonna dodge. It has nothing to do with the fact that you don't have a support, its because 9 times out of 10 your team is gonna get ROFLstomped. (for me, I'm used to waits in TB, leaving has NOTHING to do with a missing support (or jg) and EVERYTHING to do with WTF comps, hell, 9/10ths of the time I'll leave a built comp if I hate the support and I KNOW it can take a long time to find someone in support)
