Infernal dragons should not spawn as first dragon or should be tweaked
Now I get it, the 8% damage increase is not a whole lot, especially pre-20 minutes. BUT it is not something you can just simply ignore. Not only does it affect general PvP damage, but it also effects PvE and PvS (Player vs Structure) since it is just a raw damage increase.
Since the damage increase means more as the game progresses, it would make scene to have it spawn later to see the immediate increase in power. However that is not my main point. My point is that the earlier it is acquired, the better value ALL damage increases (from items, leveling, etc...) become.
So no longer is say
just 120 + 35% AP for both sides. Now one side has 120 + 35% AP + 8% AP for the same exact price for the rest of the game, which will give them a benefit in every poke, fight, contest, push, and siege over their enemy.
All other dragons have a "limiter" built into their buffs. Ocean requires you to not have received any damage from champions in the last 8 seconds to gain the benefit. Cloud needs you to be OOC. Mountain is effective against structures and EPIC monsters only. Even Elder only lasts either up to 2.5 minutes (2 minutes for the Elder Dragon damage burn buff) or is removed on death.
All other dragons have a "limiter" built into their buffs, except for Infernal. Infernal will always get stronger the more damage you gain, and will never be ineffective or not active once acquired. It is the one and only permanently active buff the game can give you.
So what to do about this? I can think of 2 possible solutions (there may be more).
- Force Infernal dragon to not spawn as the first dragon. This delays the effectiveness for some time and slightly limits the number of games that have one spawned in.
- Change the buff to apply vs champions (both enemy and ally) ONLY. The damage buff no longer applies to structures, minions, and monsters of any kind (Note that champion spawned "pets" a few examples being Annie's Tibbers and Ivern's Daisy would have the damage buff applied both on and against them since they are directly tied to a champion).
I would say that suggestion 2 is the better option since it just limits the usefulness of Infernal to only certain situations (and also gives Mountain buff back some of its power).
