My impressions, suggestions and warnings after one Bard game.
So yesterday when I got home from work I started up league and happily learned that Bard is out. I immediately bought him and logged in to teambuilder.
Probably not so accidentaly there was also bard against us.
I will now describe a few things that I noticed from that one game.
**- E **- I had encountered some problem with clicking on journey. There was not much of problems when I casted the journey and immediately click and went through. But problems started when I tried to go through portal that was made in "down" direction, I spend several seconds to activete the journey. Also I got the feeling that Elderwood Bard's journey is much less reliable.
** - Q** - For this skill it is crutial positioning and also being able to execute it properly. And that is a bit hard when the projectile is so slow. I will probably learn to hit it but there are limits when enemy is too quick or has some mobility skill. I realise that the this speed allows counterplay but this is the only Bard's offensive ability.
- W - I somehow think that waiting for shrine to charge is little rewarding. Because it heals pretty little in early levels even if you wait. And in late game the heal is pretty strong even if you don't wait. Charging kinda seems usless at this point.
** - R** - This skill is obviously just to troll your team. (I had trolled Ezreal, Vi and Sion when they tried to hit their ultis.) But then I had one or two completely epic moments when I hit it right.
** - passive** - Meeps are quite strong and I like them, But still, sometimes you want to push a lane a little and then you got no meeps for your enemies. I would really much like to have some mechanism that would reduce meeps cooldown (something like "every AA reduces meep colldown by 1 sec" or something like that). Also the chimes. These things are crucial to Bard and they also lose games.
Though there is one interesting situation that I got into because of picking chimes up:
- Great time for collecting chimes is when your team gets its ass kicked and you wait for teammates to respawn. You then have a lot fo time. But there is a catch, you are support and chances are pretty big that you have a sightstone with you. So when you are collecting your chimes and your teammates respawn they obviously want some action, but you are by then out of sightstone charges. So it is nice that chimes give you mana so you are combat ready pretty quick, but remember that you are support in the first place.
Again I realise that I played just one game and all I said (except the journey problems) might be completely off. That everything I suggested is just a matter of getting used to. I just though that the "First look" is as much important as the 100th one.
