You can stop citing winrate/games played now

I can't tell you how many times someone wants to for WHATEVER reason tell you how bad you are then they pull the old "you have X games in gold/plat etc., obviously you suck and are stuck there"

So I didn't get the memo when the amount of games you play determines how good you are. Wait... no no, because that's just not true at all.

Sure, in a controlled setting you COULD use win rate/games played as an indication of skill but that would require EVERYTHING EACH game to remain the same. This is not the case. The more things you change from game to game the less valid win rate/games played become when used as a marker for skill.

For example: I play a game as jungle. Next game I play top lane, and everyone else, enemy team included, are using different champions controlled by different players. Just those factors alone completely change the dynamic of the game, affecting the outcome. Whether or not you won those games is such a small, small indication of your skill.

Another example. I play a game as jungle. Next game both teams are playing the same champs, in the same roles, by the same players. I get baked out of my mind before I play this game. Or, instead of getting baked, I'm just not in a good mood and don't really care if I win or lose. Do you understand where this is going now?

I personally play this game a lot while intoxicated. Is that dumb? probably, but its fun. I also don't think winning is the #1 objective for every game, I play this game for fun. With that being said, using games played, or win ratio to tell me how good/bad I am, is just really ignorant. There are too many factors that go into skill level. So if you are going to be that guy, at least pick something not almost irrelevant to skill, say, I make 5 horrible plays in a row. Cite that as why you think i'm bad. You shouldn't be "that guy" anyway, because its pathetic to get on a video game to harass people, but that's besides the point.

You're still here? It's over now, go home.

Sorry but you deserve it, if you need to get baked to have fun, there is something wrong here.

Have a good one
