A reminder that Kalista needs buffs AND nerfs.

Unless you're in super high ELO. Kalista is trash now. She has only one build strategy (which has also been nerfed now), she has only one play strategy (Which is unfun FOR the player as much as it is against them) She lacks the kit to be independent and unless you're on point with every auto you make, self peeling is practically impossible early game.

When she's good she's cancer, but the way they've nerfed her into this chinese hopping vampire is also a form of cancer for the one playing her, unless you like wearing out your mouse's right click button.

They need to do something about her E and W so that she can get buffs and be fun for all levels of play. My suggestion is to revert some power into her Q (Javeline toss)

Suggestion for Kalista overhaul:

Undo the passive nerfs (hear me out). Allow her to jump backwards further again and revert the 10% damage reduction on auto's.

Q- allow her Q to cancel/reset kalista's un-cancelable auto attacks on activation. No longer applies a stack of rend. Increase its scaling. as an addition, hitting a champion afflicted with your E's activation consumes all stacks of rend and deals the percent health damage previously associated with Soul bound (indicator is still there, but unaffected by your team mate's auto's now)

W- removed- soul bound's auto's will no longer proc the percent health damage. Now it's only for vision sentries (optionally could add a steroid of some sorts if too weak)

E- the passive is still the same. E's activation no longer consumes stacks of rend, instead it slows for more and adds the first indicator on W's passive which lingers for 5-10 seconds. If you Q the target successfully in this time period then all stacks of rend are consumed and a set percentage of health damage is also dealt. (This way, there is more counter play against E simply being an execute, and more rewards for building AD and crit as well as attack speed. It also makes it difficult to rend entire teams/multiple people)

R- unchanged, but your soul partner can now be switched freely throughout the game on a short cool down (think Zeke's Harbinger)

Kalista is fine right now in my opinion. It bothered me that they nerfed her in the first place, because I didn't see that she was OP. But she is fine. I would rather them not touch her again until they have to.

She's pretty boring to play atm though. She was fun to play on release before people abused her E. (building her like any other adc with crit, and Spearing a whole wave of minions)

I don't think she is boring either... I love playing her at all point of the game.

I said this awhile ago, but Kalista is the Kassadin of ADC due to her mobility. She is going to bounce between powerful and weak just like Kassadin has over the seasons due to how powerful her constant ability to dash and kite.

I think that a good way to make her better is to remove the fact that her passive scales with boot tier, and make it into movespeed, so that way, slows can be effective against her, because now, either you hard CC her, or you are going to have a bad time.

Slows reduce her dash length actually.

I like the ideas though it will remove a lot of teamwork aspects of her kit, which I really liked.... conceptually at least. Most supports I find here at gold don't proc the w all that well and Riot seems to be fine with making her more independent.
