Assassins - Too much reward, Too Little Risk
I really have to ask, what is the point of learning more difficult champions when you can just play easy, faceroll champs like
or
. I get the CC... and they are dead counter thing, but the problem is, is that they don't lose any power for dying and their numbers are so absurdly high that they could die 20 times at the start and still become a complete faceroll powerhouse at the end... all because of damage creep.
This seriously impacts my enjoyment of this game. It has always seemed logical to me that harder champions should be MORE rewarding to play and offer MORE power then the basic faceroll champs of this class (
included) however we see less and less of that in game.
The current problems with assassins is that they have no real period of weakness because damage itemisation is so early and so much better then other stats at the moment.
I do have a way to fix this though... make assassins lose a small percentage of their damage every time that they die. This would seperate the great assassin players from the faceroll trolls that just want to play something incredibly easy with not a lot of brainpower behind it. Assassins should be just about RISK... but there is hardly any when you can outdamage nearly everyone on the enemy team from level 1.
Instead of rewarding people for failure, start punishing them by a stacking debuff every time they die. Now assassins become a risk and you have to be GOOD at them and understand their kit to progress with them. Rather then just rolling your face on the keyboard.
