PSA: Terminology of Legends
03/10/16 04/10/16
-
Comp : Short for "Composition"; Pertains to the coordination potential of a specific group of characters. A simple example is Kog'Maw and Braum who form a solid bot lane comp but more broadly, the coordination of all 5 players (Ex: SKT1's Ashe, Viktor, Gnar and Braum comp) creating a balanced team usually having high disable power with congruent ultimate potential (Wombo).
-
lom/oom Low mana and out of mana respetively; This means do not engage at this moment in time. As obvious at it appears to some of us, many people do not understand how relevant it is to fight with at least 40% of mana, bare minimum.
-
Olaf'd = Nerfed into unviability, often due to professional play, occasionally due to literally one player (Also known as "Faker'd", in some circles)
-
Eve tier = Nerfed into beyond unplayable territory, literally a troll pick regardless of your performance; Distinction from Olaf'd because Olaf just means overnerfed rather than nerfed into oblivion.
-
Rotate = To change your position on the map as a reaction to possible moves from your teammates (Gank/Counter gank/Teamfight/Objective battle/etc.); It does not necessarily imply actual rotation.
-
Objective = High priority targets, ex. Turret, Dragon, Nashor and sometimes red/blue buffs.
-
Heart of Stone'd/Eleisa's Regards = Eliminated item
-
CS = Creep stats; Holdover from DotA, Dota 2 and HoN. It the measurement of how many minions have been slain by a specific character.
-
Blue Ezreal = Ezreal with all or almost all blue items (Ionia Boots, Manamune, Sheen/Iceborn, Lord Domini(c)k's regards, etc.)
-
Insec'd = To pull off a flashy Lee Sin ult; Often by ward dashing/flashing behind a defended ADC to knock them into your team for what is often an easy kill.
-
xPeke = To finish the nexus by yourself in what would otherwise have likely been a lost game. Term created in 2013 when player xPeke finished nexus by himself as Kassadin in an otherwise fairly even game, arguably winning it for his team.
-
**Morello **= Nerf Master Suck Town ; The god of gods
-
b = Back
-
SMD rocket = Suck my dick rocket
-
Sheep Stick = Guinsoo Scythe of ... wait wrong game
-
Peel = To utilize stuns, disables, fears and other abilities to prevent enemies from striking your softer targets (Often performed by supports for ADCs, Ex: Braum's slow/shield combo defends from Ezreal or his ult..... Ezreal from Shyvana succesfully reaching Kow at all)
-
**Camp **= To repeatedly gank the same lane, especially if one remains nearby for extend periods of time, preventing the opposing player or players of said lane from safely farming at the cost of the jungler's advance.
-
Split pushing = Taking top or bot lane turret with the maximum distance between you and the enmy team. Functionally splitting apart the enemy team with the purpose of applying pressure on the other of the map, secondary function being to draw more than one enemy giving the 4 teammates an advantage elsewhere. Risky for most champions but basic for others (Ex:
etc. ) -
Backdoor'ing = To attack a turret without minion support. Is not very effective in League due to turrets only being heavily protected by the armor aura that minions rob them of. EXTRA NOTE: Backdooring and split pushing are not the same thing.
-
Zoning = An area around your character which carries a risk; Damage, disable, death or simply being there to prevent enemy skillshots from landing (I.e. Garen style). Classic examples of zoning are

-
Overextended = Being in a position where it is subobtimal for you to be. It does not necessarily mean being forward, as tanks are more optimal when they are in front of your team, but past a certain line it becomes less and less useful for tanks, let alone anyother class of character, being in front of the team which leads them them to be "Out of position" and thus, an easier kill than otherwise.
-
Out of position = Very similar to "Overextended" but not necessarily risky for the player. A character be out of position simply because they walked the wrong way or went to farm a minion wave during a team fight prep. It is one of the most subtle but heavily influencing factors in a game's late stages. This may lead them to be late or absent during major team fights in the game) NOTE: Some characters are often intentionally out of position to kill stragglers through their high burst and mitigate the danger through highly effective movement abilities (Ex:
hidding in a forward bush to assassinate an ADC or support) -
Orb walking = A somewhat archaic and practically useless manual ability in league of legends. Derived from DotA where manually launching orb attacks (I.e. Frost shot animation cancelling) would yield quicker step-and-move tactics than just straight up clicking once. This is not an issue in League because we have a function specifically made for built-in orbwalking in the controls , not to mention the fluidity of the character motion compared to the janky animations in DotA gives League a huge lead.... and even if all of that didn't exist (for whatever reason), I can't think of a single skill I could/would want to walk with in League.
....
Anyway that seems like enough for now, just one more though DRACONIAN = Dominick Destine's preferred word (IN BED!) **Perspective **= Deep Terror Nami's dakimakura's word (IN BED!) Riot Tantram = (???) (IN BED!) Taric the gay (That's literally his forum name, moderators, don't look at me) = A person obsessed with fabulosity. Malicious Metal = A semi-functional automoton in real life crusading for the rights of his fellow gears. Is potentially rampant (In robotics, rampancy means insanity and rebellion to humanity) Ariel the Cruel = Defeated Domincik Destine once, is the mortal enemy of Dominick Destine. Dominick destine. **GaleWinUnleashed **= Has a Janna avatar despite not actually playing Janna, therefore the height of trollxicity. Dominick Destine = Troll to some, god to others, the world may never know the truth.... DRACONIAN = A word used regularly by those that are demonstrably and invariably always correct at everything they say.
