Captains Log: Day 84 since operation "Dive Anivia" (O.D.A)

84 days have since past from which I ordered my men to dive Anivia in a valiant effort to heat up the freelo ice bird. 3 of my men have since passed away from hypothermia, one was instantly frozen and I'm still picking ice sickles out of my buttocks. The freelo ice bird kept yelling outplayed as we met our icey doom in her cold aoe freelo ult. If you read this, if you're a soul fortunate enough to have not tried such a silly thing, understand that diving Anivia is a fruitless effort as you'll just get balanced on and melted by her aoe ice ult. Even in the event you come close, she'll activate her trap card: Zimmermans Powerglass and become enchanted in golden shower ice as she coldy watches you freeze to your mortal knees. This is Captain Jarvan, and I was not helping. Over and out.

Tl;dr you can't just dive an aoe based champion without getting through her massive aoe ult and dying first. Gut the bird.

Your sodium levels are great enough to sink in the Dead Sea good sir.
They are high enough that if you died, your body would be safe to eat 3 months later on the Oregon trail. If you sat in a field, deer would lick you. You could lay down on an icy sidewalk and melt it. Rubbing salt in the wound from losing a 3 man dive to Anivia would be pointless, it is ever present.

As a rule of thumb, I never dive alone against anyone with hard CC of any kind (or rather, anything that keeps me from moving in the case of people with snares), unless I know I can kill them before they use it.

Solo diving anyone with hard CC is a risky thing, and you should be punished for failure.

shes still squishy as fuck, force her egg then you have like a 5 min window to kill her again like that. Sometimes her rival is strong but usual she just dies again

Being squishy is a rather irrelevant factor in the mid lane. It's so easy to survive there even when behind due to how close to the tower you are at all times. She also has an ROA as part of her most frequent items as well in addition to Archangel for a shield, while having a revive passive.

Her difficulty is also greatly exaggerated, even if you can't land Q, just turn R on briefly and toss E out, no aiming necessary.

The problem with Anivia and a lot of 'problem' champions have or have had this problem, Anivia has this problem, Swain, Vlad, Malph, Kass, Kat, old veigar, old ryze and new ryze, old zilean, they all have their damage frontloaded onto targeted abilities. There's simply nothing you can do outside of staying out of their range forever.

Also who in their right mind said it was a good idea to dive anivia???? Possibly the worst idea of all time, even if you do manage to kill her which is insanely unlikely, what makes you think you'll get out of it alive?

Anivia has one targeted ability, and she has to hit you with her q or ult for it to do much damage. She is just a cc machine, who also happens to have a revive mechanic built in, why would someone dive someone you have to kill twice as they're ccing them?

It's also her main damage. Q does the same amount, but is unreliable, so you max E first and slap them with it every time you hit them with a Q. Once you get ult you can turn it on briefly then slap them with another E. She's really not a difficult champion to play. I play her quite a bit, she's strong. I wouldn't say she needs nerfs because there are champions out there that are just as strong/stronger, and she does have clear counters, but she is frustrating as fuck to play against and if she gains popularity she'll get nerfed.
