Match me with people who have a similar performance.

Fuck MMR. I am BEYOND TIRED of being matched with morons who can't play the game to save their lives. It doesn't matter how well I do, since everyone else on my "team" is going to be feeding their asses off. Oh, you're 12/1? Well, mid has fed 10 kills to the ever so balanced Annie, who can now 1v5 and win, and now you can't do anything but watch as you lose.

So, scrap MMR. Create a new system that queues you with people who have a similar performance to you. Then, good people will be matched with good people, and good people will climb. Bad people will be matched with their own kind, and be inspired to do better, and stop holding people back.

So you want them to scrap MMR then make a system that's exactly what MMR is?

No, you can get carried through MMR by better players. If you match people based on their own personal performance, not that of their team's, then matches would be a lot more fair.

0/12/10 mid laner that wins a lot because of their team has the same MMR as the 12/0/10 mid who loses a lot because of their team. That is not fair, especially when the better players are matched with morons who feed their asses off.

so what do you propose? match people based off their kda? CS? Grade gotten? I don't see a better way to do it than mmr, since there are games where someone in bronze has a better score on a champion than a challenger. They're obviously not the same skill level though.

Well, I think something similar to champion grades, but relative to more than just your champion.

Look at KDA, look at CS, look at objective control, look at kill participation, look at warding, look at damage dealt (if an appropriate class), look at CC applied (if an appropriate class)... just generally look at all the things you do, and assign a letter grade to it (A, B, C, D, E).

Then, once you have your letter, you are matched with people based on it. As and Bs match together. Cs and Ds match together. And E matches with only E. So why is E alone? Well, these are the people who go 0/15 in ranked games, and ruin the game for people. They will play with other people as terrible as they are, and eventually they might improve.

Since we no longer have MMR with this system, LP gain / loss is determined by your letter. A is +30/-10, B is +25/-15, C is +20/-20, D is +15/-25, E is +10/-30.

Now, these letters are per-division. So, while you might be an A in silver, you could be a C in gold, and an E in platinum. If you can't play well (or play too well) in the division, the system will correct you out of it.

I also expect most people to be C. B is slightly above average, and A is a smurf or someone who is just really good.

You do realize how abuse able the ranking formula is; If you know the math that goes into it.
