So we are nerifng ahri before graves/kaisa/jhin/lucian/irelia/jax/urgot

Rexxiee··31 votes·10,132 views

Sounds a little stupid to me, specially since ahri right now is only overtuned because of glacial augment build being too good (which every mid will abuse in worlds), so you should nerf that instead.

We are nerifng ahri before the 60%+ ban rate 54% wr kassadin, we are nerfing ahri BEFORE NERFING PYKE

And of course nerf those OP champs that have been broken for months and months already.

Especially movespeed, try landing skillshots on this guy without strong slows Jhin Jhin Jhin Jhin .

Even smaller bursts of movespeed like Ryze is annoying af to deal with.

I find it funny how majority of the Pro-Play games consist of just Kaisa Lucian in the bot lane.

You might not agree with me but no amount of number changes will make Kai'Sa a well balanced champion.

  • Her Passive allows her to secure kills, even if the rest of her abilities would be made to be weak. Not to mention allies can apply Plasma stacks with CC.
  • Her Q allows her to farm effectively, kite by casting it while moving away, can be a poke tool if enemies get too close.
  • Her W is an another Poke tool, a really long ranged one too, can be used to detonate Plasma stacks (like Varus).
  • Her E is a really strong Attack Speed steroid, reduces the cooldown of the ability per basic attack, and on top of it all the evolved version gives Invisibility.
  • Her R is a massive long ranged disengage/engage/reposition dash tool with a massive shield on top of it all.
  • She has both AD and AP scallings on all of her abilities making her item building extremely flexible.
  • She has mixed damage (both physical and magical), and % missing health damage.

She just has too much of everything.

As for Lucian, I will skip him because I have no reasonable thoughts about the champion.

I remember saying that Kai'sa feels like a champ that cant be entirely balanced because of how random her kit is, its basically a better old Nunu but the difference being there is ''synergy'' in her passive. Boards downvoted me to hell.

While I agree most of those champs are OP, I have two objections to your whining:

  1. ahri has had her day fsr linger than most and is definitely over tuned, quit whining she'll hopefully be balanced after this.
  2. urgot is a sexy, beautiful champ and deserves his time in the limelight. It's nice to see a fresh face and different kit rather than the usual op turds you normally see, and he does actually have a reasonable level of counterplay. At least he's not a blue blood like ahri who has enjoyed a winrate greater than or equal to 50% for most of her long existence, aka better than 95%of champs.

Ahri's "had her day" build was electrocute in low elo. They don't think that's too powerful and it will be feeling the nerfs the least of any build or playstyle. lmao

Ahri's Glacial Augment build has only been regularly used for 2-3 patches, tops, and the problem is while it nerfs her it does nothing to address how bullshit Glacial Augment feels to play against.

Besides, Ahri is good because she's one of the easiest champions to get carried on, not hard carry, while Graves is good because he 1v12's games regularly. Shit's ridiculous.

SSW Talon3 votes

Ahri's problem is that the E buff was too much and they should bring it down to 1.2 secs at level 1 scaling up to 2 seconds at level 5 to meet the middle ground.

Ahri is overtuned, but the nerf on PBE isn't hitting the right thing, that is the problem. But at least it's not likely to have a big impact on her as I don't really mind Ahri metas much anyway.

How is it not hitting the right thing?

If she does a lot but you space it out so she only does a lot in a short window then she has a chance of being a good champion outside of solo queue.

If she does a little but she can do it repeatedly then she's just a solo queue champion because everyone in high elo and their mother knows how to play around her and she's reliant on snowballing but how do you snowball if everyone knows how to play around you?

SSW Talon4 votes

Because 0.4 seconds added to a cc at level 1 is overkill, especially the higher up you go as good players make such good use of cc that her winrate went up by 4% when the buff happened. Her cc ability is the one that is notably powerful right now, I don't think nerfing other parts of her kit is going to remedy that issue.

She still is a soloq champ because she still realistically does a little but repeatedly, playing around her is just avoiding her E which in proplay will usually happen unless her E is set up by someone else, hence why she has seen barely any proplay this year. Nerfing her R isn't going to make her any more popular in proplay next year.

The R nerf will make her easier to kill in lane post-6 though so I can respect and appreciate that. I'll also simply take any nerf at this point, just like I would have when Talon was still crowding picks out in mid (for soloq exclusively, of course.)

exactly why Ahri feels so bullshit to play against atm. Unless you buy a qss, if you get hit by her charm you're dead with no counterplay. Just sit there and watch as she oneshots you while you can't move at all.

Again, ahri has been strong long before glacial augment, and we'll before this season. She has been consistently one of the higher winrate mid champs throughout the history of league. Long before the current rune system. She will be fine if she gets knocked down to 49-51% winrate. That's where most champs should be, so seriously stop complaining lmao. Yes graves and some of those other champs are busted, I never said they weren't. But that doesn't mean ahri doesn't deserve this nerf.

With a 7% banrate.

Compared to Akali's 67%, Camille's 26%, Draven's 20%, Evelynn's 40%, Graves' 37%, Irelia's 52%, Jax's 26%, Kai'Sa's 24%, Kassadin's 37%, LeBlanc's 27%, Pyke's 31% and Urgot's 18%, taking into consideration the other stats like pick and win rates of all these champions, Ahri is still one of the most balanced and undeserving of nerfs of the recent patches.

Despite being picked a lot and winning a lot, she's not banned a lot, because people don´t think she's all that ban worthy with all the other actually broken bullshit champions in the game right now.

SSW Talon4 votes

A set of champs needing nerfing (Graves, Kaisa etc) doesn't exclude another champ needing a nerf (Ahri).

I think they all need nerfing and hope that the rest mentioned here get hit next patch, too.

Ahri Inari1 votes

And some other need complete redesign. For example overloaded kit such as Kaisa, Ryze, Azir (Ether op or nerfed to the ground) and unhealthy gameplay such as 100-0 point & click in 0.1s like Talon, Rengar.

I wish Riot would just balance his game rather than add extra content and mess with the meta 5 time a year.

SSW Talon1 votes

Talon's fine, he has some counterplay in terms of his kit, the rest I agree on.

kaisa, ryze and azir are just too good

Damage is so high in general currently that Rengar can actually 1 shot adcs with a single auto. Talon was okay until damage became so high because he'd usually have to do a perfect Flower combo to kill very quickly. He doesn't need to now damage is so high between elec, sudden impact, everyone losing armour in runes, duskblade, etc. I hope the rune changes next year make it so he can't do what he's doing right now, despite myself being a beneficiary of it, I would still like Talon to need to full combo properly to kill like he needed to last year.

However, he does need to be reasonably fed to one shot with no counterplay, I noticed you have Ahri in your name, you can actually E him out of his Q and deny the damage + passive stack, I don't know if you knew this and I have no idea if it's intended or a bug (as Ahri E isn't meant to interrupt dashes) but I can confirm it works.

Ahri is tough because she is one of those champs that is far too easy to do well with when people don't even know what they are doing, has a kit that is very forgiving when you make mistakes, but then in the hands of a really good player can be completely oppressive.

She is like the highest pick rate champ but still has a solid win rate, because she is completely viable at all levels.

She probably does need tweaking, but just enough to tone her down, not destroy her.

Now is not a good time to be complaining about why is riot nerfing x before y. Instead, we should be focusing on okay good riot has nerfed x, y, and z, and should also nerf a, b, and c on the same patch.

What's with this glacial augment build everyone talks about? I always read people saying that they will abuse it in worlds, but I watched quite alot of games from the championship until now and literally not a single mid laner in these games took glacial augment.

Hello LoL Boards! An Ahri main here, with a 3-year experience, 1million and 400k points and a diamond 5 player here to share his thoughts on Ahri.

  • 6 patches ago Ahri got her charm buff. We, Ahri mains, had stereotypes about it and had no clue that it would make her strong. I personally wanted more damage into her W. Now that i think of it, Ahri would just go back to Gunblade Lich meta again. Back to the buff. The buff was far stronger than what any Ahri main would have expected. Her wr got higher, and she was in top 5 mids very soon. So all those things show that the buff was really good and it made Ahri S tier, which she hasn`t been since then in S8. So, what should i say and what is my opinion?
  • The buff was huge. What most players dont realize is that she even got a mana buff, which didnt do anything at all. Yes, from then on you can throw 2 charms except 1 till 6th level and Lost Chapter, but the mana wasnt problem really after Lost Chapter.
  • The buff shows how strong CC is. Just 40% made her S tier from B, and her banrate was higher a lot, too.
  • What should be done with Ahri now and is the nerf going in the right direction? Completely yes! They are nerfing Ahri the way she should be nerfed - her safety. What makes Ahri strong ( not broken!) is her ability to do well even if you mess up because her safety is really high. This nerf will delay your ult by 20 seconds, which is huge for Ahri counters ( LB, Vlad, Fizz). It will make her hard matchups harder, and make them require more skill which is what i really love.
  • Now, what else should be done to Ahri? Bring back her dash-stopping mechanic, but make her E cooldown higher by 3-4 seconds. Why? SKILLED Ahri players will save their charms for the critical moment, while unskilled ones will most likely miss it or use to combo. This would make even more difference between a good Ahri and a bad one. Also, this is the direction they wanted to go in. Make her highs higher and lows lower

-Ahri mains will say Ahri is weak(most of them). No she isnt. She is strong and S tier atm, but nowhere near broken. Is the nerf deserved? Yes? Should there be more? No

To conclude, this nerf is a nice one but there`s more work to be done. I hope i didnt confuse people because im really tired. Good luck on the Rift!

but tbh her wr was high before this build became popular though besides winrate there really isnt anything broken or op about ahri its just that thanks to her ult she can actually survive to most of the cancer that is popular like rengar kha zix eve kassadin jax and so on

Its completely untrue that Ahri mains did not like the buff. We had stereotypes about it because we wanted damage, but it`s far better than just adding raw damage into her kit. We like the buff and it shows that its much better than what it could be.

Myself , and many others in Discord and Reddit , and not completely we didn't like it , it was just not needed , and if we have to choose the ult nerf that won't solve anything and people will complain about her or her e revert , we mostly will choose the E revert

Does the order matter? This is pretty much you saying, let ahri be op a little long and nerf these guys instead. Riot is going for the top tier, ahri is by far one of them so it doesnt matter which one comes first.
