What is "Low Elo" to you?

In my opinion, low elo would be the bottom 50% of players, which is somewhere around silver 3.

SO if someone is silver 3 or lower, I consider them low elo.

THis is subjective though, someone at a challenger elo would say anyone below diamond is low.

Looks like the general consesus is anything below d2=low elo..

That doesnt make sense to me considering diamond is top 2% of players. Meaning 98% of players are "low elo".

Remember it doesnt have to go, low elo, high elo. theres a gray area in between.

That makes no sense.

Diamond is only the top 2% of the player base. to say that 98% of the playerbase is "Low Elo" strange.

Also skill=rank=percentage... therefore: skill=percentage.

In high elo, you're playing against pros. In high d2, you can get paired against master/challengers somewhat often.

Thats why that is called high elo.

I dont hear anyone talking about mid elo, so the natural reaction is, if you're not high elo, then you're low elo lol.

so d3 under = low elo d2 and above = high elo

Mid elo doesnt exist in our community because if you aren't good, you're bad lol

Anyone here saying D2+ is high elo and everyone else is boosted while NOT being D1 or higher can please drink a nice warm glass of "SitDaHellDown".
"Low and high elo is about skill" is a stupid argument. Why? Because skill is relative. Yeah, seeing someone do something stupid in this game looks REALLY stupid. We get it. Still, if I'm in, say Plat II, even if there's people better than me, how many people have I proven myself to be better than at that point? Skill is relative, and relative to others in my community, I'd be in about the top 5% of the entire ranked ladder for my region. That's pretty good, but some people love being pretentious pricks when it comes to this specific game for some reason, like it's never good enough for these OH SO CHALLENGER viewers. Imagine being in the top 5 % of Street Fighter players in America? Or top 5 % of Smash players? Or even a strong tourney regular at Pokemon VGC events? No other community takes its time to just shit on and trivialize the efforts of its better/best players like this one does.
That all said, I'd say Diamond 5 is the beginning of "high elo", whereas Plat would be the beginning of "not low elo". Sure, Gold is a good ways up, but you can't decay in Gold so it's devalued a bit.

I know i am very much late to this conversation but honestly, i'd consider everything from Iron to Gold to be low elo, while Platinum is some middle-ground. Diamond and above i'd consider high elo

Diamond 3 and below is low elo, Diamond 2 and up is high elo. High Diamond and Master players basically play a different game. Diamond 3 and below basically play the same game we play in Silver and Bronze. You might say Diamond players are just really good baddies but Master players are legit good players. Diamond players make the exact same mistakes we do in Silver and Bronze but far less frequently.

I watch a lot of streams and this kinda thing comes up from time to time when Challenger players talk about Diamond elo.
