Offering advice on playing against Camille.

So, a while back I wrote this thead. Basically a very long, detailed post on how Camille's abilities work, and how you can play against them. I offer some advice on how to counterplay her, and give a few champs that work well against her.

But, I still see people complaining about her being broken, so I want those people to tell me what they find so broken about her, and I'll do my best to explain how to overcome those bits of her kit and make Camille sorry she ever picked Camille.

So, what issues do you have with Camille? I'm a rank 7 Camille (she's one of my favorite champs, and would be even if she was weak), and I enjoy playing her whenever I can get away with it. I've played her in every role (even ADC), so I know she works against all types of champs.

So, tilt at me, ask questions, whatever. I'll help you play against Camille (partially so people stop banning her and I can actually play her). :3

Edit: So, a lot of people complain about her true damage. Would this change help with that at all?

Huge true damage crits on a 2 second cooldown.

First, they're not crits.

Second, it's highly telegraphed. If you look at her legs, there are big circular lights on her hips (where her hookshots fire out from). When she uses the first cast of her Q and hits something, the second cast will start charging -- and as it does, her legs will start to glow, then make a big mechanical sound and flash, and be a bright white light. At this point, her Q will do true damage if she hits you. Thing is, she can only hold that cast for 1.5s after it's able to do true damage. So, if you stun her shortly after her legs start lighting up, or walk away when they do, then she doesn't do any true damage to you.

The true damage is also based on her Qs damage, which is AD + A small amount. So, if you have any kind of AD lowering debuffs, that would also cut her true damage way down.

And, even though the number is huge, it also shows the physical damage of the Q as true damage (which is a bug) -- it's actually only ~500 true damage, not 700-800. Only 40-80% of the attack is true damage.

If her Q is giving you issues, then:

  • Play someone with a lot of CC and damage

Aatrox Chogath Darius DrMundo Garen Irelia Kennen Malphite Maokai Nautilus Pantheon Poppy Renekton Shen Sion

  • Someone with a lot of sustain (Camille does very low sustained damage)

Aatrox DrMundo Darius Illaoi Irelia Nasus Swain Tryndamere Vladimir

  • Or someone who can just plain brute force through her kit and out trade her since she's squishy

Aatrox Chogath Darius DrMundo Garen Illaoi Irelia Kled Nasus Pantheon Poppy Renekton Swain Teemo Tryndamere XinZhao Yorick

For teamfights and squishies, you have to kite her and peel her off your squishies. She has really low AA range, so she's easy to keep under control. She really can't fight more than one person at a time, so just turn on her and she explodes without doing much of anything.

Do you think Quinn is a good match up against Camille? Quinn's Blind renders Camille Q useless, and when Camille uses E Quinn can just use her afterwards E to vault off of Camille. Late game i'm sure Camille can destroy Quinn, but do you think Quinn is strong enough to shut down Camille and put her far enough behind from ever reaching that late game power spike???????

Yes and no (but mostly yes).

Quinn's blind doesn't work like Teemo's anymore, so it's not really a big factor.

Early game could go either way. Camille's E will cancel Quinn's E if you fly at each other, but Quinn can disengage pretty quickly after Camille has already landed (but you'll take a chunk of damage while doing it). So, save your E for when Camille actually jumps on you, and it'll work fine.

You also have the ranged vs. melee advantage, and you can keep her from farming well, but you have to be aggressive with it or Camille can turn the lane around given the opportunity. Keep her health low enough that she doesn't want to engage on you.

Post 6, Camille will have an easier time trading with you, since she has her ult to keep you from just flying away with E, but you can still keep her away from you inside of it with your E. If you stay near the middle of the lane, rather than near a wall, Camille can't use her E after she ults you, and you can just kite her around until it wears off.

Once you get lifesteal, you can just facetank Camille and stat check her -- and if she's not fed, you'll win the fight.

But, ultimately, yeah, Quinn should be able to beat Camille if you play it right and don't give Camille easy engages and opportunities. If you don't do thing properly though, Camille can put the beat down on you if she's not super behind.
