So. What do you think? Is this good? Is this bad?

Personally, I think that these changes massively gimp Darius's early game damage much too much. They make him much stronger in the mid game and late game if he can get his passive proc off, but ultimately it makes him a one-trick pony. He either gets destroyed by the enemy team before he can get his passive or he gets it and starts destroying them (unless they can burst him down fast enough after he gets it and then waits for his abilities to come off of cooldown). It seems unhealthy both for him and for the game in general. I expect his winrates to be very low for a while, with him eventually getting buffs that break him (by addressing his weaknesses/buffing his strengths, but not compensating or balancing the parts of him that would be crazy strong if he got those buffs). They then will likely continue to balance him until he goes back to being pretty mediocre (like the current Darius, but with a much worse early game and a situationally strong late game).

The aspect that made darius playable was his Q, nobody had that much of a hard time resetting with his ulty, this is a huge nerf, i simply cannot believe how much they nerfed Q, it was his strongest tool.

Crippling Strike (W) BUFF: Mana cost reduced to 30 from 30/35/40/45/50

Let's face it. Mana was never a problem for Darius' basic abilities ever (unless you were spamming them every time they were off-cooldown.) so that's not a noticeable buff.

TL;DR Of those changes is - Darius got nerfed to shit until he gets resets in a teamfight.

They nerfed it, because noone could play vs him as melee...

Nobody can play against a lot of champs as melee. It is just how kits and balancing work. Some champs excel at certain things, while others excel at others. His dominance against a lot of (not all) melee tops didn't cause his winrate or viability to really skyrocket or become a problem; they're changing it for the sake of changing it.

Remember Veigar.

Well, they nerfed Veig, because of his botlane supporting, he was never top pick mid or any good without 30 min afk farming or getting kills.

hes become more difficult to play in some areas. for example you have to really hit the enemy with the outer edge of the q now, otherwise you wont get any stacks and deal less damage.

but he also got something out of it. in combat sustain with the health return on the q and the ability to instantly apply 5 stacks on a target. yea, that was actually a problem for him if he wanted to chain his ult properly in teamfights.

keeping targets long enough in range to apply stacks for his ult was difficult. only having to hit them once to get the full effect of his ult is a big deal for him.

It's a shame that Darius got dumpstered in lane by the Riven he used to be able to fight early game and is so behind his ability to hypothetically instantly apply five stacks means nothing in a team fight.

But don't worry, I'm sure that Riven's laning will be nerfed too, since Riot seems to want to phase lane bullies out of the game.
