They straight up reduced the fast Q combo dps by making it so you can only cancel the ability mid cast rather than just after the cast.
Im honestly pissed about this, selling those as "QoL" changes when they were in fact just nerfs for anyone who could do the fast q combo well enough.
Can we revert this stupid Q change? Thanks.
Zielmann5 votesToning down the biggest abuse cases is the first step to actually letting them do proper balance to Riven.
Joxcab2 votesBut Riven is balanced.
Zielmann1 votesNot making a statement of her current power level. It's more about the huge difference in power between those who can and cannot do the cancels optimally. If you balance so regular people can play her effectively (perhaps with some cancels, but not optimal), then she'll be far too strong in hands that can play her optimally. If you balance for the ones that can play her optimally, then she'll be garbage for those who can't. The changes flatten that power spike some, making it easier to tune her when needed.

It's obvious from this change that Riot is okay with animation cancelling on Riven but not okay with how people were animation cancelling with her Q. It all comes down to which frames were being cancelled. With this new change, people with higher ping can cancel her animations by buffering her commands without having to worry about their inputs not going through due to higher ping.
