Riot still thinks people like being told to play game modes they hate

I prefer the icons and emotes of the "Nice" side. So that means I have to play ARAM or Poro King until I get 3 wins in them, I literally can't play Summoner's Rift or I'll risk getting stuck on the "Naughty" path.

I hate ARAM. I hate Poro King.

Fuck you, Riot. There's seriously no other way to put it after you have been consistently told to stop giving us missions that tell us to play modes we don't want and now created missions that ACTIVELY PUNISH US for playing the modes we want.

Is tonight just the night where common sense goes out the window for people, and many just assume the only way to communicate is verbally barfing the first nonsensical toxic comment they can think of? The whole thing about missions is optional to begin with, and the pathing to start either or is also entirely optional and easy to get into. Not only that, but literally every other mission has been restrictive in their own way for specific reasons, so how is this time any different?

Don't like the missions? Just don't do them. They aren't even worth getting mad over.

because i need to get three wins in aram or poro king to go into the nice path, and if i get three wins in summoner's rift first then i'm stuck on the naughty path. if I even wanted to take a break for one night and play a mode I liked before doing this, then I would still end up stuck on the wrong path.

so even though aram and poro king are tedious garbage that i can't stand, i have to spam them and be stuck in a stupid poke war for 30 minutes over and over again until the 4 morons i'm stuck with happen to be slightly less stupid than the people on the other team and we win 3 separate times.

literally the dumbest phrase spouted by hipsters, it has no meaning but they repeat it over and over again thinking that acting smug is the same as being smart.

there is no need for you to put yourself down that much. I know it's hard being told the truth but there is no need for you to say this about the things you say

That's every day on boards.

This is like saying "I can't believe my boss wants me to come in today. Why can't I just stay home, play video games and still get paid? What a dickhead"

This is a game, it's not supposed to be treated like a job. The game is supposed to give me joy, not take it away.

My job takes my joy away and I play the game to bring it back.

Mission is an option for you to get some stuff for free. You won't lose anything not doing them. You don't like it? Don't play it. This is the reason why there is SR AND HA missions.

The SR missions don't give me the icon and emote that I want so I have to avoid completing it.

These Snowdown Missions are significantly better than previous event Missions where you had no choice in game mode. Yes, it'd be nice to be able to pick rewards separate from mode, but at least you're not entirely missing out on an event if you don't like a particular mode now.

They're actually significantly worse because I'm forced to play modes I don't like over Summoner's Rift EVEN IF I WANT TO PUT OFF MY MISSIONS UNTIL LATER.

It would be better if Riot at least split up the modes so that something closer to SR was on the nice side, like Twisted Treeline (which isn't included anywhere), but instead they made it ARAM and ARAM-lite.

Twisted Treeline would also leave me with a bot mode option so I could at least easily and quickly grind out the mission like you can do with the naughty side.

But of course Riot has zero forethought when it comes to missions and they choose to barge ahead with mistake after mistake without thinking or listening.

How is "I got a reward, but I don't like it as much as the other possible reward" significantly worse than "I didn't get a reward at all"?

Look, every iteration of event Missions has had its flaws. People didn't like ARAM Missions; people didn't like SR Missions; people didn't like paid Missions; people didn't like Missions that required specific icons; people don't like rewards being locked to mode-based Missions. Maybe if both sides had an SR-esque mode (I agree that TT's omission is weird), then people would complain that the two Missions paths felt similar and bland. It's hard to please everyone.

Making it easier for players to participate in events is a good thing though. This specific implementation might not be perfect (or even good), but it's a step in the right direction.

I'm getting the reward I want, I'm just more unhappy while doing it.
