Could we make Ruby Sight stone allow you to place 4 wards?

Seems like it would be a nice buff to actually upgrading it, as you can just get as many wards placed down buying the upgraded trinket as you can with sightstone, it's just a LITTLE less efficient.

I dont even updrade to ruby sightstone... that's how pointless the upgrade is atm

I don't think anybody does. Why have an extra 200 hp and an extra ward you aren't going to use before backing when you can actually do something useful for your team?

I usually use the extra 800 on.. item 3117 or item 3114 or item 3301 (Dependng on what my support item is.. idk)

Let's not force supports into rushing Ruby Sightstone in addition to upgraded sweeper/pink ward trinket, boots, and t3 support item.

t3 support isn't as forced since it doesn't give much better gold generation and their effects are replicated by other items as well (Coin - Righteous Glory, Spellthief - Rylai's, other AP utility items, shield - Locket of Solari.)

I thought this would be a cool idea to play with on the pbe, Riot did say they were going to be making some changes to sight stone this pre-season but they just dont have all the details yet because they dont want vision to be too high cause it would lead to passive, less action, drawn out games. They basically don't want everyone to buy sightstone, so keeping it unique to just the support role is the goal with it.

Kinda makes me wonder if they could somehow make the gold income items and sight-stone a 1 slotter. Given the passives it would probably be difficult to abuse. BUT hell maybe not and it be broken OP. haha. but yeah, they're already workin on it.

Ruby Sightstone is intentionally a late game upgrade (after everything else is built) because if it was an actually good upgrade, supports would HAVE to finish it first before they can build something they want (it's bad enough you have to use the first 1300g generated for T2 gold item and sight stone, and falling behind makes it worse.)

well theres no point in building sighstone in general? why build it when you can just get upgraded trinket which is just as good,?

I didn't say there wasn't a point (although I wouldn't mind sightstone just becoming a trinket), just saying that right now, Ruby sightstone is the way it is for a reason.

Placing an extra ward would make no sense, unless it was item 2043 /item 3362, which costs less, and lasts permanently unless destroyed. You could then buy other items to enhance your defense, healing, or anything else that's necessary to aid your team.

You sir don't seem to see the importance of vision.....

Vision? The very thing that helps keep you commonly updated on gank attempts, JG objectives, and roaming attempts? Actually I do as in the low elos I'm usually the only one warding anything. However the upgrade requires you to spend 800g which can be used on something else as you already have 4 wards every back as is.

I understand the importance, you're the one here that doesn't seem to understand the importance of building tanky or to improve healing as a support, or damage as an ADC or any other role.

Besides with item 3362 and item 2049 I can have 4 wards I can place at once on the map for only 1050 gold vs 1600 gold for item 2045 which offers no stronger benefit til late game.
