Ok Riot, explain matchmaking to me

I'm at promos to Gold 3 with a modest 56% winrate. Everythings fine.

But, something happens. I take a losing streak. Damn. It happens.

But it doesn't stop.

It keeps going.

Wtf.

I'm 5-15 my last 20 at Gold 5 0 lp.

Now, I haven't hit my head. My coffees the same. House is the same. Computers the same. No physical ailments have suddenly come upon me.

So I'm wondering how it is that I was doing just fine and suddenly I just turned garbage? Did I have a stroke none of my friends or family were aware of? Did I have an aneurism? Has Dementia set in decades earlier than one might expect? Polio?

How, Rito, does that happen? How do you explain a massive drop in LP for no reason at all?

I think I just hit loss number 7 in a row after a TF fed 2 kills to Ahri in 4 minutes and ragequit. After putting it a brave fright our Morgana also decided to ragequit around 18-20 minutes in.

Just an update on my my soon to be 8th loss in a row and likely back to S1.

This time I'm sitting 11 minutes into the game at a modest 1/1/0 while the rest of my team is combined a collective 2/14.

But I'm losing LP solely based on my play right Riot?

Because the ELO system functions through Wins and Losses, not statistical analysis. A bad player can have the same ELO as you. That's about it.

Thankfully ranked queues were disabled so I'm still G5. Hopefully they're back up soon so I my team can lose me a 9th game in a row by acting like stroke victims the first 5 minutes of the game.
