What if we reworked Olaf's W to synch with his juggernaut build?

Remove the lifesteal but instead have each of his auto attacks heal him for 1-3% missing health while it is active?

Say he has 3k max health, his W is active, and he is missing 2000 health. His auto will heal him for 60 health(ignoring the bonus healing on W passive), then his next auto will heal him for roughly 58 health, and continue to go down the healthier he is.

Just an idea to make Olaf fit a little more to this lore in wanting to die but is so hard to kill the closer he is to death.

Riot decided that Olaf wasn't a juggernaut afterall but a diving fighter.

Likely we'll see some changes to Olaf whenever diving fighters get addressed.

There unfortunately lies a big problem that I can see with this. With lifesteal Olaf is required to build fairly offensively in order to get the most out of the stat. With a change to % missing health, he could just go full tank and would be even harder to kill than Maokai. If its the lore you're worried about, I think his passive and W passive hit that enough.

That's why i decided to recommend this change, maybe it is overtuned but his lifesteal is irrelevant if he isnt heavily damage or attacking a tanky target

i think what hes trying to say is that (maybe i go overboard) there is no reason to play olaf if your going to build damage as many champs do his job better. and there is no reason to go tank on olaf. as many other tanks do his job better. hes too binary. i agree.

other than his ult passive . not much makes him a juggernaut. hell even his true damage scales with ad

He dies too fast as soon as he presses R, either he goes full tank or full AD. This won't fix anything IMO, maybe it will just make Tank Olaf arguably more viable.
