Question about Banshees Veil and Karthus ult

I'm pretty sure Banshees blocks Karthus ult. But if it doesn't, please correct me

So edge of night looks insane, like really freakin good. But I fail to see how this cockblocks Karthus harder than Banshees veil does? Also, I don't see edge of night ever being a rush item on anything other than AD assassins. And quite frankly, I think it's a healthier item than hexdrinker maw is because they make you immune to magic burst in early/mid game stages.

But it seems odd to complain about this boning Karthus. Banshees blocks his ult too and if your argument is Banshees shield will be popped before Karthus would ult, I can promise you that anyone holding edge of night would likely be forced to pop the active too. It seems silly to overreact this much. The 30 second CD is a bit too low, I think 60-90 seconds is more reasonable and that'll probably get changed.

I like the item and I think as long as maw remains more bruiser-esque and the cooldown on its active gets properly tuned, the item will be fine and won't really hurt AP champions in the slightest.

Edge of night has a 30 second cooldown and like a 1.5 second channel time

literally activate it whenever karthus ults and boom no ult while banshees has a 40 second cd and the spell shield isn't an active, so it wont always be up

Under those same circumstances, Edge of night wouldn't be up either

Edge of night is an active, so the spell shield isn't up at all times and cant be broken at all times you can put it up when you want to

And Karthus ult has a 200 second cooldown and a 3 second channel time. And you're rooted for that time as well, unlike Edge of Night.

Okay, I'd just like to clear things up.

First off, EON is meant for preparation, not reaction. It has a 1.5 channel time where you can't cast spells and taking damage cancels it. Second off, it blocks one spell. It's not enough to stop all of the CC you can throw at people. I do agree it's overtuned, but it's not outright bullshit like what people think.

Also assassins are losing upfront burst, so they have to stay longer in fights. Giving them a defensive tool (I highly recommend riot to remove the magic resist) is necessary, they can no longer blow someone up in a second, and staying in a fight longer where even tanks don't last very long in isn't a good idea. If they didn't have this they won't even be able kill someone without getting cc'd or blown up mid combo.

Anyways, I will probably be downvoted for saying this, but I just wanted to make things clear and why EON is needed in the game.
