So in supporting we have a few styles

The all in Tank style Aka Braum, Leona, Nautlist

The Semi tanky Pick capture style Thresh, Blitzcrank

The Castor cc Mage style, whose goal is to bring both damage and cc Morgana, Nami

But there is one style in particular that makes supports behave completely out of line and very well, cocky and douche baggy. That is the "Burst Mage, support"

Who are these "supports", these "supports" consist of.

Lux, Brand, Zyra, Sona and a few others but these are the main four that pop to my mind. These "supports" will more often then not in low elo do the following.

-Steal every kill, and by every I don't mean the accidental KS to then type "sorry ;-;" I mean literally take EVERY kill to the point the adc is gold starved -Never build sight stones and immediately rush pure damage items like Death Cap or Echo, or hell even a sheen item. -Constantly harass the adc and teammates in why they can't step up -Complain about lack of vision despite being the role that is suppose to provide the most vision. -Comment every mistake -Just a over all major douche bag

My point?

I love how we complain about Riven top laners but never once talk about the so called "supports" who do nothing but grief the team and act life self righteous lil brats all because they are on "support".

I hate this over Generalization. Typically when I play sona, I buy the sightstone because I know very well her base damage is enough. (hell I pick up Censor before picking up a lich bane) Granted poke supports have a very high chance of taking kills simply due to their high damage. But it's too overgeneralized that KSing puts the ADC that far behind. Considering I'm not even touching your minion farm, and making sure the enemy can't farm. And the kill pressure has to be their before you could get any kills at all.

People need to stop getting easily offended by these type of posts like if it doesn't 100% apply to them then it's wrong. Newsflash: You're one in like 10 million people who have played sona at least once. Maybe (just maybe) you aren't that high of a percentage in that number.

I am a Zyra and Brand support main. And Sightstone is my first purchase.

I like to apply damage, but more than that I like setting up kills and picks for my team.

Sadly it could be worse. I play (and enjoy) these mid laners: Malzahar (as soon as they figure out what my full combo does I do get hated on especially due to the ult Suppression) Yasuo Zed

That's a good thing though. I mean I'm sure you have seen my preferred Malz build right? item 3116 item 3146 item 3071 item 3165 item 3512 item 3009 ... So much power is in this build its scary...

Though I wonder how the mid year mage update is gonna affect my build. Meh, I'll adjust it when that happens.

Yep, and in one build too... Still surprised at how effective it is. Yeah its costly as all hell though so getting it going is the first problem. But once it really gets going its fun to see people try to stop me. Especially when they are trying to 1v1 me as Malz.

Lich Bane is core on Sona.

And the only 'support' champs I hate seeing are Lux and Nid, because, yes, they do tend to do what you've described. I haven't seen very many Brand or Zyra supports go without a sightstone; honestly, I see more tank supports trying to do stuff without a sightstone.

Oh when someone picks Lux to support me, i get that urge of just wanting to go AFK, nobody on their right mind plays Lux support.

At least Lux can support better than Sona. She has more CC, more damage, more utility, more range, more durability, higher MS and et cetera.

I can't stand a few sona players. They get so thirsty to get the Q auto proc they get cc locked and then rip sona, but when I'm against sona she's a menace that sneaks in a few pokes that force me to recall with the support still locking down the AD when sona will just heal everything if the cc lock wasn't a garaunteed kill.

I'm fine with burst supports ksing. I get assists and free cs in lane plus another carry on my side.

You forgot Annie, Morgana, and Vel'koz. (I know morg and vel'koz don't have reputations for stealing kills, but morg and vel'koz players still do it.... just because they can).

I once had a leona curse all game and constantly engage a kali ali lane while I'm jinx and she usually died. I didn't say anything and pitched into the warding since she wasn't doing it. Then she got caught out and complained there weren't any wards...when she is the support. Finally she started talking in all chat when my team was flaming her back and started with the put-upon support shtick. Yes, supports can be bad and toxic too. However I meet so many nice support players that I won't complain about a one or two of those hug box threads.

I'd lump Annie and Morgana in there well. I'm so used to playing Morgana mid that the only times I've ever played her support was when my team thought that I picked her for it and couldn't get out of it.

You shouldn't include Sona in the "damage" supports, she has the 2nd-loest potential of the entire support class. Her correct classification is "Bad Nami," as in any game you COULD play her, Nami does that exact same job better.

In general, Sona is just overall the weakest support in the game. Her kit doesn't do anything other than damage. Her damage is so low, it doesn't do anything without artificial damage items. You may as well play literally any other support in the game with Lich Bane, every single other support utilizes it better than her. It's just that they don't need to rely on crutches like Spellblade cause they have REAL functioning kits and not some horrid mess like Sona's.

I'm an adc main AND ex-Sona main and I dodge every single game there's a Sona on my team. More than once, I've dodged during a promotion series. The champ is complete garbage and unplayable, I'd rather take the loss over wasting my time struggling to carry a shit champ that's essentially made my lane 3v1 or worse.
