So, if you do end up nerfing Camille...

(Which I don't really think she needs. People just need to learn how to play against her)

I'd take away the AS on her E when she jumps at a person, and potentially lower her W's healing (Scaling, maybe? Starts at 50% working up to 100%?).

That's all I really think she needs.

We will probably be nerfing Camille in 7.3. Similar to your thoughts that'll probably include making her E only give AS if she hits an enemy champion. We're also exploring other nerfs to pair with that, with things like lower Passive shield strength, increased W and E mana costs and W becoming a decaying slow on the table (probably wouldn't do all of them, do want to test a range of things though).

I thought she already only gets AS from her E if she hits an enemy with it? o

RiotMeddler3 votes

From memory this is a shift from AS on any enemy hit to AS on enemy champion hit only.

AMYS GRAVE1 votes

It is AS on an attack on enemy champions only, or is the lol wiki wrong?

If Camille hits an enemy with Wall Dive, they are stunned for 1 seconds and she gains bonus attack speed for 5 seconds.

LankPants1 votes

If the skill says 'enemy' it's referring to any unit. Champions, minions, monsters, traps, pets, anything. What Meddler's talking about is making it just champs, so if you E into an enemy inside of a creepwave, they dodge and you just hit creeps you don't get the AS buff.

AMYS GRAVE1 votes

fair enough, i misread it.

EROTIC RAID BOSS2 votes

So she was getting attack speed even if she just hit a minion?

and rip jungle Camille lol (which is fine with me)

Niyumi3 votes

She gains AS if she jumps at a champion and gets the extended range. Doesn't matter if she hits them or not.

Ultîma1 votes

Could this be preserved on monsters as well? Camille jungle is a lot of fun.

Eedat14 votes

Why dont you address the things that matter? True damage nuke on a very low cooldown and the zero counterplay ult? Having to lock in Poppy every game that Camille isn't banned just because she exists as a champion isn't fun. You really don't see a problem with her gank assistance with her ult?

TyrekGoldenspear7 votes

The ult is in itself counterplay.

To the mobility creep that everyone is whining about, ya see?

You know that Kat that's always hopping around? Ult her.

You know that Zed with the jukes? Ult him.

You know that Hecarim riding into your backline? Ult him.

You know that Vi coming for the ADC booty? Ult her.

She is the answer to mobility creep. She's only mobile enough to catch them.

HI MIRA!

You seem to have caught me at a bad time. It appears my joke didn't sit too well.

Tough crowd.

Mira Arya Enthe2 votes

I think some people didn't know it was a joke, or are denialists about the state of Camille. Camille makes Azir look like the most properly tuned champion ever released.

I've been lurking mostly. Hope you are doing well.

TyrekGoldenspear2 votes

I'm doing pretty well, and honestly I personally don't find Camille that bad.

I know what you're thinking, I main immobile champs, I should be Camille food and hate it. But the thing is I don't.

She's telegraphed for one. The mobility she has that everyone complains about is mediocre compared to say Talon, Leblanc, Kassadin, and other famous wall jumpers.

It isn't her mobility that people dislike. It's the fact that her mobility is just high enough to get her close enough to stun, ult you, then go to town on you.

Personally when I play mages I just run ghost so she can't catch me, and stick with my team.

Otherwise I'm playing someone tanky who can stand up to her and either kill her myself or lock her down for an easy kill.

Plus there's one big thing that seperates Camille from Azir, something that confirms in my mind that she isn't as bad as Azir in his prime.

She has no poke. She has to commit for her damage.

/end thoughts.

Hope you're recovering.

Mira Arya Enthe2 votes

Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I just had to redo my entire runes and masteries. I delete them and rebuild them from scratch nearly weekly. OCD thing.

I appreciate the good wishes. And I can see your point, I hope she comes into line soon however. But after that awesome Shyvana rework and the fact that Riot hasn't removed animation cancels from the game, I am fairly confident in Meddler. I think he is a good guy and his team tries their best to keep everyone happy.

TyrekGoldenspear1 votes

Agreed on Meddler, though I feel that his efforts to keep everyone happy backfires sometimes.

I'm confident in his ability to bring Camille in line without gutting her for the people who enjoy playing her.

RiotMeddler8 votes

We're talking about the Q and R as well, they're parts of her kit we're much more split on internally though (what's the division between problem we should hit and unique strength we should preserve?). Certainly possible we make changes to them as well, we think there are definitely nerfs needed to other parts of her kit though too, so will likely start there since we've got higher confidence in those changes.

Eedat3 votes

You're just risking gutting her before you fix the actual problems with her kit.

Remember when you said:

Both Kalista and Azir are representative of a period where in hindsight I think we tunnel visioned too much on uniqueness at the expense of some aspects of game health (overloaded kits) and skill floors. That's resulted in some champs who have really cool stuff on their kits, but have been challenges to balance for regular play versus top tier play. My take is that there are solid concepts there, but that the execution on them needs some work (reducing unnecessary strengths primarily, and putting that power into other parts of the kit, giving clearer weaknesses to play around).

Don't fall into the same trap

B0OM5 votes

Personally, I don't see why Camille's stun is on her E, rather than the outer part of her W. It seems more intuitive to me, since you're supposed to try to dodge that anyway? I would think it would lower frustration playing against her as well, since it's a bit easier to counterplay that than it is to dodge her dash. I'm sure that was considered when designing her though, any reason why it wasn't implemented?

EROTIC RAID BOSS1 votes

think of her E as Vi's Q. that's where all her strength is loaded- if she hits it she's going to have a good trade, if it misses, she's suddenly in a much weaker position. So Vi's Q does a bunch of damage, AoE CC, and procs her passive shield, Camille's E does CC and gives a big attack speed boost, and procs her passive shield. Her W makes her dueling a little more interesting but it isn't her real power. It's really just there to load some strength into a spell that gives you more counterplay against Camille by avoiding it.

B0OM1 votes

That's true, I hadn't thought about that comparison. Although, I don't think Vi's Q covers as much distance as Camille's E (775 range vs. 800 range, I'm not sure if that's doubled range or not), so I think that coupled with the stun on impact increases frustration of playing against Camille.

EROTIC RAID BOSS1 votes

it doesn't, but on the other hand vi's ult gives her more range.

When you look at these skills, without the numbers, and compare Camille or warwick to hecarim or vi, you see they line up pretty well in overall mobility or strength for divers- they all have a basic ability for diving, a diving Ult, some survivability (passive shields or healing, for example) and some good damage over a few autos so that their damage isn't totally front loaded.

It's hard to say how frustrating Camille's ult would be compared to warwick's or Vi's, if Camille was actually balanced damage/sustain wise, but I don't think she's as overloaded in 'things I do' as people say. it's also possible that kind of kit is just way more annoying from a top laner than it is from a jungler.

Her Q needs to not turn trinity procs into true damage.

Her ult needs to be disabled as soon as she dies, and maybe giving it some sort of counterplay other than being one of the 10 champions that can knock her back.

Are there any talks about making her ult end when she's killed? It's such an extraneous power she has to keep you trapped even after she's dead, and cheapens the usual counterplay to a fed diver: burst them down before the rest of their team catches up.

PureSilvrr5 votes

Please fix her Q true damage, I have witnessed firsthand and seen from many other people how they are getting killed by a "700+ true damage" Q. I feel like this is the biggest change she needs, second is the attack speed on her e, and then the W I feel is fine(maybe).

warpenguin5552 votes

please make killing camille end her ult. YOu get rewarded more for knocking her away over killing her

King LeBong1 votes

Please for the love of god, make her ult drop when she dies.

She shouldn't be rewarded with locking you in place for her team if she goes in and dies like an ape.

Sexy Jack Rabbit1 votes

Tapping her abilities isn't going to make a difference. There's a reason why she has a 70%+ Ban rate in Solo Queue alone. She needs Kit-Wide adjustment nerfs.

warpenguin5559 votes

100% pick/ban in pro play. "People just need to learn how to play against her"

i can't fucking breath

Niyumi1 votes

I mean, she's one of the most telegraphed champions outside of Vlad. She's pretty easy to beat if you think a little and know what you're doing.

WoonStruck8 votes

Anyone with mobility, animation canceling/buffering, and untargetability is automatically less telegraphed than the majority of the roster.

Camille has all 4.

You're high. Camille is overloaded as fuck and could probably have half the text on her kit removed and still be decent.

EROTIC RAID BOSS2 votes

Personally I think the untargetability on her ult is good- means when she doesn't use it well she's less powerful, which means its got some counterplay. but she's too strong at a base level so it doesn't matter right now.

WoonStruck1 votes

If it were actually factored into her powerbudget, I'd agree.

However, she could take twice as much damage during the leap and be target-able and would STILL be highly over-tuned and overloaded right now.

EROTIC RAID BOSS2 votes

I dunno about that. if you cut down her q damage and overall ability to murder you in 2 seconds, the ult would be a lot less oppressive. that's a big part of the problem right there imo

Mira Arya Enthe2 votes

PRO PLAY! If they cannot handle her being 'telegraphed' neither can the people on the boards.

Niyumi1 votes

I mean, pro players typically have garbage micro play. Just go watch World$, and look at how they individually play. They have amazing team coordination and macro play, but they're not mechanical gods.

It's not like she is the only champion that has a 100% pick/ban rate in pro play.

EROTIC RAID BOSS1 votes

...who else rn

warpenguin5551 votes

Rengar is for sure. Zyra Leblanc Maokai Malzahar I think are close

EROTIC RAID BOSS1 votes

fair. but I think if a champ is pick ban in pro play there's always a very good case for nerfing that champion, since that means they're seriously harming diversity.

Jorencice1 votes

Hows her winrate?

Sinserta7 votes

Or... or picture this. Her q doesn't do 800 true damage with four damage items! <3.

BakedLotion5 votes

i just want her ult to not be an instant "you're dead" button in a teamfight..

EROTIC RAID BOSS1 votes

a bit more leniency in how far you can run, like making the hextech trap bigger, would kinda be nice. or not last as long, maybe. its a pretty nasty move. I did notice its helped some that the knockback isn't as effective so your teammates can help you faster

WarWork2 votes

I think her biggest problem is how overloaded her kit is and on top of that having an iconic ult. So it's hard to balance her well. I think for the fact that she's a new champ, that's a big problem.

EROTIC RAID BOSS1 votes

I think its more like her stats are too good or some of those things are too effective. I don't think you need to actually take stuff away from her, because that just makes her have less counterplay or less dueling options. for example, nerf her passive shield yes. but if you took it away totally, she'd have to have the right stats to make up for it and be balanced, compared to a balanced version with the shield. that means you don't have that window where her shield is down and she's weaker, or where a teammate using AD on her when you use AP lets one of you pound her.

CCarnage1 votes

I think she's not bad where shes at. Her ult is the only thing I consider OP. Essentially a WW ult that you can do nothing about lmao.

CCarnage4 votes

And insane gap closing to get ult off on carry, also pretty op.
