I play a lot of Kat (or I used to anyway). Now I play a lot of Kayn.

Just played a game as Kat, and I noticed something: While I did really well early game, and was 10/1 by 12 minutes or so, I could do literally nothing late game, since people had health and MR and despite buying a Void Staff I still didn't even tickle even a Jax. However, playing Kayn (or any other AD champ), you don't fall off. You continue one shotting people, and do infinitely more damage than any AP champ could ever do.

So, AP champs fall off, while AD only becomes ever more broken the longer the game goes. Even assassins and champs that are supposed to fall off, like Panth and Rene, just continue one shotting anyone they come across.

AP needs some buffs, or AD needs some massive nerfs. Just no reason to play anything but AD right now.

She just kinda falls off to begin with. Just like some AD champions, some AP champions will outscale others.

Veigar, Ahri, Swain, Viktor, Ekko, Fizz, etc... All of them scale so hard.

On a side note... Void Staff is not enough in most cases, or is better off being picked up later. Void staff grows more useful the more MR the enemy has. This is because it is percentile instead of flat. But if people do not stack MR, it is often better to grab these items instead.

With these three items, you get 30 MP and 10% more damage, which can help erase some of the MR they may have. A void staff can be added onto it obviously, as the 35% is still not negligible. 35% of 80 MR is a 28 MR reduction. So in total that is about 58 MP, which will rip apart squshies in a heart beat.

Buuut... you also run into a problem of AP Ratios, thus there is an amount of balance that is needed.

I got Void Staff as a last item, since my ENTIRE ult didn't even kill a Zyra (plus I had two passive hits around me, and no one went below half health). Still just tickled afterwards.

Had Liandry's and a bit of MPen in my runes / masteries, but I had to get Merc Treads since they had 50 CCs per champ.

its ok everyone feels that way about katarina at one point throughout their league career, its quite normal for any man (and some women) to feel that way about her, just ask her out on a few ranked date matches until you get over that feeling and eventually you will realize its not her thats the problem its you misunderstanding what exactly she is offering up to the relationship and once you realize that and start using correct combo rotation patterns you will realize your feelings are one sided and shes only really interested in skilled katarina masters in master tier.

Well, considering I've got nearly 100k mastery on Kat at this point... pretty sure I understand how she works.
