You know, kind of wish I could 4-queue.
My brother and two friends are in a queue, can't queue with me. So now I have to solo queue and get matched with morons. T_T
Why was four queue disabled?

Why was four queue disabled?
Try playing with a four man as a solo player.
I did all the time, and had no issues with it -- in fact, I made a lot of friends because of one that invited me afterwards and introduced me to a lot of people. All the horror stories that people tell just aren't true -- sure, once in a while I had really bad teams, but I can only think of one four man that was as bad as all the stories.
It's only a bad experience if the four man is bad.
Why was four queue disabled?
I never saw an issue with queue times.
The horror stories are made up.
1.) They were there
2.) No, They absolutely were not. Single players get taken advantage of so much that it isn't even funny (With 4 mans)
I was in every ELO from bronze to gold last season, never had queue issues except for at the very beginning of the season.
I queued solo 90% of the time, got put in with a lot of 4 mans, and never once had an issue like people talk about on the forums. So, either it's a bronze 5 thing, or it's a big overreaction / exaggeration.
1.) Bronze - gold is literally 90% of the playerbase. There shouldn't be any issues here, besides the targeting of a random individual who gets no say in the game he's playing and could potentially get camped
2.) 2,000 games in low elo. Kind of sums up not learning. given that you have around 2000 games played, assuming that 90% were solo you were likely placed in 4 mans around 18 times. IIRC, the statistics moved further against solo players as elo increased.
Personally, i've played close to 600 DQ games this season. I can distinctly remember 7 or 8 times that there were group disparities and those games personally aren't any fun at all.
We're working off of the availability heuristic here, and actual riot data would be really nice. Considering they disabled 4's, they likely had data that supports one side of the argument.
Exactly. And 90% of the playerbase has no issues with queue times. Diamond and above has ALWAYS had shitty queue times, dynamic queue had nothing to do with that. In fact, the new champ select had more to do with that than anything else.
4,000* -- and you can only do so much alone in a team game. When you have excellent averages on every champ you play (and I play a lot), you do your job and win lane, control the map and all that every game but lose due to the 18 death bot lane... not much you can do.
Personally, I've played thousands of DQ games. Been matched with premades of every size. Didn't notice anything outside of the normal occasional asshat. So, people are just exaggerating.
If I've learned anything about Riot, it's that the things they do are based on what's lucrative, not what makes sense or works.
Here we go. What's lucrative is the best for the players. 4 Man queues were frustrating to a lot of individuals. That's a lot less complaints than beforehand, even if you personally haven't experienced it yet.
They balance the game to keep it interesting, and release skins. This gives them profits, and us enjoyment. They produce E-sports for our enjoyment, and their personal profit. They create an updated client to enhance first impressions and draw people back to the game.
If there isn't a profit margin of at least 50%, then it's not profitable. They do what's lucrative because it's ultimately better for us and it gives them an income. It makes complete sense and works. If it wasn't for greed, and personal interests we wouldn't have the majority of the things in our lives. Welcome to Capitalism, the fairest, most just, liberating system in the world.
There's a difference between making a profit / staying afloat and greed -- though I don't expect you to know the difference.
And I can tell you that Riot has gone way, way beyond just making a profit.
That's great! I can't wait to see what other products they invest in!
I don't want them to be barely making a profit, i'd like them to stay competitive and investing and making more high quality products for less. It's better to be ahead of the ballgame than sinking. Damn commie xD
They don't invest in anything. They hoard all the money to line Beck / Ma / Merril's pockets, and that's that.
And, if expecting people to be decent human beings makes me a Commie, then I'm fine with that.
"decent human being" Lol, quite the opposite.
They recently released Mechs Vs Minions, they have ongoing client changes, the quality on skins is increasing consistently. Certain departments are growing. Yup, that's all for nothing, no personal investment at all. You know, it takes quite a bit of money spent to pay for all of these things.
Cz you yourself do not define the 27+ million players playing.
The reason they're disabled is because now that solo duo Q exists you wouldn't find anyone solo players playing flex queue.
I queue solo in flex.
LOL why?
People aren't such little tryhard asshats.
Because it was killing the game.
Mix of 4v1 bullying and/or leaving the 5th out of the loop, and overall queue time concerns because matchmaking would try to match a 4+1 vs a 4+1 with compatibile roles, and finding solo players in flex is expected to be a concern.
edit: That said, I'm typing this while waiting as a solo support primary in flex.
Now, I don't understand either of those complaints. I queued as four all the time last season, never really had wait times more than 20 seconds. Queuing solo, no more than 5-10 seconds.
Got matched with 4 mans while queueing solo, never really had much issue. Everyone is typically silent in this game anyway.
Ummm, can't you flex queue?
Flex is 1, 2, 3 and 5. Four man is disabled in it.
Oh, that is kinda lame. Didn't know that.
Ah, well, I guess you can usually pull some random guy from someone's friendslist to get 5 though.
