Congratulations, you've found two champions that are melee (in the case of Rumble, only technically) who can win/go even with Darius in lane. I fail to see how that validates your point whatsoever.

Renekton is known as a very powerful lane bully who scales terribly. If Darius didn't exist, Renekton would be the one accused of that. So really, Renekton surviving lane against Darius doesn't mean anything.

Rumble may have melee auto attacks, but his laning phase is not melee in any way. He has no mana to manage, his harpoons let him CS safely from range while his flamethrower lets him cs safely from up close, matching any trade while not taking aggro. He is likewise often complained as oppressive toward melee laners.

In short, your two examples are two of the most obvious non-ranged champions that could do well against Darius. No wonder you don't auto-lose lane to him.

Try playing Hecarim against Darius and make the same comment. That's just the worst example, I would argue Poppy, Nasus, Mundo, Trundle are all also incredibly weak matchups (although mundo can at least throw cleavers). It's not like it's literally auto-win, it's moreso that Darius has a large innate advantage in most melee matchups that make laning phase incredibly boring for whoever he is up against (just stand back, farm from range with whatever abilities you can muster, and otherwise farm under tower and avoid being grabbed at all costs).

most meta toplaner will win against darius top lane

hecarim is shit top atm, against darius or against anyone

rumble and renekton are one of the least bad match ups for darius, if you want some real counters look at fiora riven aatrox yorick and i don't remember how much other toplaners beat him

God watching a Darius try to fight a Yorick is just so entertaining.

One does not simply outplay a champion that wins by clicking on you while having higher stats.

Well, you are playing renekton a traditionally really good melee champion.

I'm not argung that darius cant be beaten, in fact ive even done it as sion, but he's really hard to fight for a lot of melee champions top.

Clears Throat Darius has a lot of rough melee matchups. Prime offenders are: Riven, Fiora, and Renekton. The reason these matchups are rough for Darius lies in Darius's kit itself. Darius is a very linear champion making anyone with dashes for instance a very solid counter. With Darius's handle damage being nerfed anyone who can successfully stick on Darius has a great edge. (Pun not intended) Darius loss out on: A stack of hemmorage, the heal, and a large portion of damage making sticky/mobile champions an absolute pain.

The other side of the spectrum is champions hat can outlast/sustain Darius. Prime offenders: Trundle, Fiora. Generally Darius has an advantage on prolonged fights. A good example is a Riven matchup. If Darius can survive Rivens burst he can win the fight quite easily. But, you have champions like Fiora and Trundle who also thrive in a prolonged fight. While I will say Darius generally has a general power advantage over his opponent, his linearness and predictability makes the fight more even against higher Elo players.
