A question about Akali

Why is she allowed to build and then go straight tank and still become her team?

Once she gets this item she gets a big power spike and just annihilates all your squishy carries in less than 5 seconds, even if this is the only damage item she has bought.

She gets this, then builds tank, so not only is she doing lots of damage she's also really tanky so you can't kill her quickly and she just healls off most of what you do to her.

I don't mean to complain but I see this almost every game with akali, it's getting old.

Thats how LoL works. Whoever has more tanks wins. Real assassins cant do anything vs tanks so if you cant beat em, join em.

True. It's annoying though. Every time there's one on the enemy team they always end up carrying for their team.

With 1 item she is doing so much damage that our own carries are dead within seconds and anything they've done to her has been healed off.

If you build all tank except for 1 item you still shouldn't be doing that much damage

That's what she does. Akali is meant to assassinate squishies. As a tank she lacks effectiveness due to her lack of CC. The only real CC she can offer to her team is the death of the enemy squishies.
Have you ever seen an AP Akali? AP Akali is far scarier than Tank Akali imo. She's also far more efficient built full damage. Yes, your ADCs and Squishies die within seconds...seconds. It takes time to fight ADCs, especially ones with last whisper type items + bloodthirster. The longer you're exposed to the enemy, the longer the enemy has time to CC you. Again, without any real defensive CC of her own, it is extremely vital that she eliminate targets as fast as possible. Building full damage allows you to do this. Not only will you melt opponents down in a much shorter time, you heal for more.
Akali is a high risk, high reward champion. Even Tank Akali is not impervious to being caught out. On the other hand, I find Tank Fizzes and Tank Ekkos more capable of escaping slippery situations.

I did some poking around and discovered you're in low silver, just as I. If you look me up, you'll find an Akali jungle OTP. Akali mains and Akali OTPs in /r/AkaliMains and in the subsequent clubs spreadout over NA agree with one thing, if anything: Tank Akali is horrible, and the majority of us greatly shun those who do build Tank Akali. For goodness sake, the reddit main website header even says: Please no more Tank Akali.

Akali is not broken and really is at Talon's level--very much a feast/farmine champ. The prevalence of tank/assassins is not due to the champions themselves, but rather simply because defensive itemization is more efficient in some cases and often cheaper than the offensive alternatives.

For example, a Negatron Cloak for 720g versus a Blasting Rod for 850g...40 MR vs 40 AP, Negatron cloak wins. That's just one example, overall, defensive items are a lot stronger than offensive items imo.

It's not a problem with her assassinating squishies at all, it's that there is no room for any counterplay and she kills every squishy ans then just leaves the lone tank. It is done so quickly you can't do anything about it.

She dashes in, kills a carry in less than a couple seconds, dashes to another one, kills them, and keeps doing this before any sort of counter can be made, all while healing off any damage done to her.

At least with Zed he goes in, ults 1 squishy and is out. Akali is all over the place killing person after person in less than a few seconds before anyone can do anything.

I've seen games where we were winning get completely turned around because the akali comes in and single handedly destroys most of our team before we can do anything about it.

Ap akali is definitely worse, but I've been seeing more tank akalis lately.

An assassin should eliminate targets quickly, but should not turn and carry the game after buying 1 item and single handeldy keep taking on the enemy team by herself. If she's fed enough there's really no risk for her. She goes in and eliminates anyone who can do damage in less than a few seconds each, all while healing everything off.

An assassin doesn't go into the fight, kill everyone, and leave. An assassin goes in to take out a high priority target and then gets out. I just see akalis go in and kill everyone important, and then leave the lone tank to their team, and she does this so fast that you can't really do anything about it except hope your turret is enough to keep her off.

And if she chooses to go almost all tank instead of ap, she still shouldn't be doing this. Then there is even less of a risk, but she's still able to do the same thing as long as she has item 3146

Also I'm unranked this season currently but last season I was Silver II.

um, it was meant for akali, you want her to be squishy and trash the whole game? learn to poke the fuck outa her pre 6. stop complaining. shes fine
