Grievous Wounds for AP champions

Currently every form of champion has access to Grievous wounds in some kind of related item. Tanks have item 3076, AD champions have item 3123, and AP champions have item 3165. But there is a big difference here.

item 3076 = 1000g item 3123 = 800g item 3165 = 3000g

Why is there not an item that builds specifically into Morellonomicon that has the "Grievous Wounds" passive and costs around 900g?

Maybe an item that gives 25-30 AP and the passive for 900g?

Why not having a specific item that only carries that passive and builds into every of the three full options?

I like your thinking. It would be nice. The reason for why it is not currently is because each item gives benefit to either AP, AD or Armor. So by removing these you would be effectively paying for a passive with 0 base stats. I have no idea how much that passive is worth though. If it is valuable enough to hold down an inventory slot without giving any kind of personal benefit or not. Maybe make it have an adaptive base stat based on what you have the most bonus stats in. For example, if you have the highest stat bonus being armor, health, or MR, you would get a base stat to fit that bonus respectively. Basically if your highest bonus is MR, you get +15 or so MR. But if a teammate or enemy buys it and has their highest bonus stat as AD, they get +15 AD, and so on.

I agree on the point with the stats - Stopwatch is currently the only item that does not give any stats while still building into several items. The theory for my idea comes from bramble vest: There are many players that are frustrated form playing against that item because they can't attack an enemy with it in the early game without taking damage just from the passive. They'd require to have lifesteal to compensate, but at the same time the vest already reduces that effect. If Thornmail was more split towards its passives, then you could build more towards the stat you really need: if you have a lifesteal focused attacker that goes for hydra first, you can make enough use out of the grievous wounds already.

You can't really determine how much gold value grievous wounds have, because they are all different amoung these items (or have been) both in requirements how to apply that debuff to the enemy and how long the debuff lasts. I think bramble west inflicting the wounds for only 1 seconds makes it really hard to make an own item for that passive.
